Last night while watching TV, there was an ad for a movie “just in time for the holidays”. Yeah, I thought. Nothing says “holidays” like Memoirs of a Geisha. :rofl: What were they thinking???

But there are a couple of other commercials that are cute or just funny. First, the cute Secret anti-perspirant commercial where the girl (the president’s daughter Zoe from The West Wing as a matter of fact) asks—speaking English—this cute guy in Italy how to get to the Trevi Fountain. He replies in Italian. She makes those faces/gestures that mean she doesn’t know what he said. Then he says in broken English that he’ll take her on his scooter. Then a text overlay says her “Secret” is she speaks fluent Italian. :)

And a truck commercial that just makes me laugh. These guys are out in the desert watching somebody (a friend, I assume) driving his four-wheel drive truck across the desert. Then all of a sudden this meteor crashes and explodes right where the truck is! But when the smoke clears, here comes the truck. Then the text overlay says, “Tacoma — Meteor Proof”. :lol:

~~~~~~~
So what did you guys who watch Lost think about last night’s episode? I was shocked!!! Oh, and if anyone is wondering why we’re seeing so little of Walt? It’s because the actor who plays him is going through a major growth spurt that doesn’t fit in with the timeline of the show. :mrgreen: And next week we get to see what happened to the tail section passengers from the time of the crash to the present! :jumping: Cool!
~~~~~~~

On the writing front, I’m still slogging through the manuscript. Getting back to the research thing I talked about yesterday, it isn’t that I don’t enjoy doing it, mind you. I just always seem to come up with things that need more research than I can find in books or on the Interenet. Which is annoying. On the other hand, who knows… I might make new friends by writing experts about the info I need. :) Stranger things could happen….

  1. I love those two commercials! Haven’t seen the Lost episode yet so I’m glad you didn’t give too much away – I already know there’s going to be a shocker.
    I always end up putting too much time into research.
    Writing letters sounds like a way to make new friends to me :grin:

  4. Eve, have you watched it yet???

    Mary, you must! It’s a great show!

    Danica, I printed out the last of the manuscript this afternoon. I’m on page 243 (out of 363) right now. It’s going to be quite a bit shorter once I finish cutting the stuff that doesn’t work. On the other hand, I need to add some things, too, so we shall see… :typing:

  5. Make yourself a deal. Do all the research you want, but still meet a minimum number of pages a day. Otherwise, you’ll next be reorganizing your writing reference bookshelf. Oh, and then you’ll only be able to write after you get that new laptop with the perfect program.

    (and don’t make me sneak over here again without leaving an email address so I can thank you for your comments. Sheesh!)

  7. Nope – Saturday night. I still haven’t watched CSI from last night, nor Threshold and Numb3rs from last week, and then there’s Ghost Whisperer etc., tonight – good grief, I watch too much TV.

    :party: Whahoooooo on the writing!

  8. Tori, I love that Secret commercial. I’ve never seen the truck commercial though. I didn’t know that about Walt either. I haven’t seen the last couple episodes of Lost so I’m also glad you didn’t give too much away.

    I watch way too much TV too. But it’s all research/writing related. I need to listen to dialogue to get it right, right?
