Last night while watching TV, there was an ad for a movie “just in time for the holidays”. Yeah, I thought. Nothing says “holidays” like Memoirs of a Geisha. What were they thinking???

But there are a couple of other commercials that are cute or just funny. First, the cute Secret anti-perspirant commercial where the girl (the president’s daughter Zoe from The West Wing as a matter of fact) asks—speaking English—this cute guy in Italy how to get to the Trevi Fountain. He replies in Italian. She makes those faces/gestures that mean she doesn’t know what he said. Then he says in broken English that he’ll take her on his scooter. Then a text overlay says her “Secret” is she speaks fluent Italian. :)

And a truck commercial that just makes me laugh. These guys are out in the desert watching somebody (a friend, I assume) driving his four-wheel drive truck across the desert. Then all of a sudden this meteor crashes and explodes right where the truck is! But when the smoke clears, here comes the truck. Then the text overlay says, “Tacoma — Meteor Proof”.

So what did you guys who watch Lost think about last night’s episode? I was shocked!!! Oh, and if anyone is wondering why we’re seeing so little of Walt? It’s because the actor who plays him is going through a major growth spurt that doesn’t fit in with the timeline of the show. And next week we get to see what happened to the tail section passengers from the time of the crash to the present! :jumping: Cool!

On the writing front, I’m still slogging through the manuscript. Getting back to the research thing I talked about yesterday, it isn’t that I don’t enjoy doing it, mind you. I just always seem to come up with things that need more research than I can find in books or on the Interenet. Which is annoying. On the other hand, who knows… I might make new friends by writing experts about the info I need. :) Stranger things could happen….

I’m still working my way through reading my 1920s murder mystery manuscript. It really does need work. Why do I always write stuff that requires massive amounts of research? :useyourhead: I must be a masochist :whip: or something.

On the horoscope front:

You may be thinking that much of your life is simply too boring for anyone else to really care about, VICKI. Don’t fall into a well of self-pity in which you convince yourself that there is simply not enough excitement in your life and that there never will be. Believe that you have the power to cure any sort of downtrodden feeling that you might have at this time. Consider joining up with a spiritual support group where you can share your feelings honestly.

Hmm. This sounds like I should jump into one of my books….

The door of opportunity is open for you today. You will be able to walk right in and advance your career hopes. Avoid flirting and other casual pursuits. Timing is critical today; keep your eye on the prize.

Ooo, I like this one!

Tonight’s the return of new episodes of Lost. :cheer: Yay!!!

Well, we started unloading knick-knacks off the shelves today and packing them up. Even if the house doesn’t sell for months and months, it’s not anything I’ll miss while it’s boxed up. Books, of course, will not be packd until the very last minute. :)

I’m tired. Haven’t been sleeping all that great. And I have no brain. However, I’m hoping that won’t deter me from kicking ass when I watch Jeopardy this afternoon.
