If these geese lay golden eggs, bring ‘em on over! :cooldance:

I spent most of last night converting more tapes to DVD, but did pause to watch one episode of First 48 on A&E. And I got to thinking, what happened to the good old days when A&E had stuff other than weird reality shows??? I used to love watching Poirot and Nero Wolfe and other murder mystery shows. Now they show all of them on their sister Biography Channel network. Well, I don’t get that channel on either cable or satellite (though I could get it on the latter if I wanted to pay even more!). Where is the logic in this? Wouldn’t “reality” shows be considered more biographical than fictional shows??? And now they’ve got a new show (granted, it’s fictional, but still) about roller derby. :confused68: Oooo-kay. However, all that said, I do have to confess I get a kick out of watching Dog, the Bounty Hunter. But I can get away with calling that “research” for my bounty hunter book.

Oh! :duh: Speaking of research which reminds me of writing :typing: I wrote TWO AND A HALF pages last night!!!

  2. Thanks, Chrys! :) A&E used to be a cultured network. Now we have roller derby, bounty hunters (and much as I love the show, let’s face it, the Dog and his family aren’t exactly high-brow ), and things of that ilk. What happened to the ARTS portion of the channel??? In fact, by and large, the ENTERTAINMENT half of the equation leaves something to be desired, too.

Not that any of this is a hot button with me or anything.

  4. Yay on the pages:wave:
I used to love to watch MI-5 on A&E. You know they moved the stuff because they are trying to get people to upgrade and spend more money - like on digital cable, etc. They took away mom’s Hallmark channel and put in on digital - she was very upset. And you don’t want to deal with an upset Alzheimer’s patient!
