Today I want to discuss “calling birds”. Who do they call? Do they carry cell phones? Or do they have to keep quarters handy to use in pay phones?
So what’s everyone reading? I hit the library the other day and found they’d gotten in a bunch of new books since the last time I’d been there. Right now I’m reading Kathy Reichs’ Cross Bones. It’s a mystery/thriller and features forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. Interestingly, this is the same character as in the new TV show Bones. But…. (You knew there was a but coming, didn’t you?) The show is NOTHING like the book! In fact, the only thing I’ve seen they have in common is Tempe’s name & occupation. This may go a long way to explain why I’ve never seen Kathy Reichs’ name anywhere in the credits on the show.
Just on a whim, I decided to check out Kathy Reichs’ website. I found out something I hadn’t realized about the show. Real life: forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs is also a novelist who writes about fictional character Temperance Brennan. On the TV show: forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan is also a novelist who writes about fictional character Kathy Reichs!
Anyhoo… I really enjoy the show, but I think I like the book better.
Okay, so I’m curious, what exactly is so special about French hens? Are they better than hens from other countries? Do they lay better eggs? Do they taste better? What? Enquiring minds want to know.
The cold continues to linger despite copious amounts of vitamin C, sinus medicine, and cough medicine.
Could be worse, though, so I won’t complain. Too much.
We’re having very un-Christmasy weather here today. It’s 62 degrees!
…Urge us to go out and buy! Yes, folks, it’s time for that annual funtime known as The After Christmas Sale!
Not that I have any intention of going out there and facing the masses today. Besides, I’ve still got this stupid cold. Just what I always wanted for the holidays. Not.
So… let’s see. What shall I talk about today?
Got a couple of semi-interesting horoscopes today. The first one says:
Money problems will go away today, as someone you hope will pick up the bill comes through as expected. Look to emphasize what you have in common with people in order to benefit from their support.
Well, I like the idea of money problems going away.
The second ‘scope says:
Life is good, love is grand, and all is well. Except for the fact that you’re really, really tired. You know how fond you are of hibernating? How about treating yourself to one of those days now?
Boy, they sure nailed me with this one! I am tired!
And I do love to hibernate.
A fun meme I came across:
