Well, it’s a new holiday season and the Capital One barbarians are at it again. My personal favorite is the one in the pizza delivery car who shoots a plastic reindeer with a crossbow. :rofl:

~~~~~
Last night I watched the first four hours of the six hour Sci Fi Channel miniseries The Triangle (about the Bermuda Triangle). Must watch the final two hours tonight. I’m feeling inspired by it. :)
And I am now officially a princess. I got my permanent crown today. :banana: Too bad I don’t have a smiley with a crown…
UPDATE: I just finished watching the end of The Triangle and I’m both puzzled and annoyed. :cursin: It was a great show…. except for the last ten minutes!!!!! The ending made no sense whatsoever to me! I hate that!!!
I’ve been tagged by Rene to post 10 Reading Secrets about myself. So, here goes…
1. I read mostly science fiction, fantasies, and mysteries these days. But I like them best if they have some romance. :)
2. I love atlases. I have seven. A U. S. road atlas, a British road atlas, a Virginia gazetteer, two world atlases, a road atlas for Italy, and a road atlas for Kenya. (Yes, the Italian and Kenyan ones are purely for research purposes. The British one is because I read so many books set in Britain and I like to know exactly where they’re talking about.)
3. I love my 1950 edition of Emily Post’s etiquette book.
4. I hated reading “literature” in English classes in high school. Still do, come to think of it. I’m a genre girl all the way.
5. Some of the first romance books I ever read were my mom’s Lucy Walkers.
6. When I started first grade I came home from school the first day very put out because they hadn’t taught me how to read. (This was in the Dark Ages when kids didn’t learn to read until they started school. :rofl: )
7. I re-read a lot of books. This is probably why I have so many. If I ever got on the TV show Clean Sweep and Peter the Aussie organizer dude started in on me about getting rid of books, he and I would likely come to blows. :boxing:
8. I loved the Nancy Drew books until I discovered Trixie Belden. Trixie rocked! And she was more realistic in that she usually got in trouble for stuff unlike Nancy who always got out of trouble because she was Carson Drew’s daughter. Sheesh.
9. I want to have Sirius Black’s children. Which would be a good trick considering what happened in Order of the Phoenix. That and the fact he’s fictional, of course. :D
10. I never fold down corners of pages to mark my place. I have an extensive collection of bookmarks and I use them.
I think just about everybody I know has already been tagged, so I’ll just say if you haven’t been and want to play, too, knock yourself. out. :)
I didn’t do any actual writing last night, but while watching a documentary on the Bermuda Triangle I suddenly had this brief idea flash into my head. So I wrote it down before I could forget it.
In addition to the Bermuda Triangle documentary, I also watched a two hour special reunion of the Brit comedy As Time Goes By. Love that show. They also had a brief blooper reel which was funny. :)
Here’s a piece of shocking news! I actually wrote last night!!! An entire page! :confused68:
And now for something completely different. A rather petty complaint. Now that Elizabeth Vargas is one of the official co-replacements for the late Peter Jennings, I wish she would go shopping for some new clothes! It seems like every time I turn on World News Tonight she’s wearing the same lime green jacket. Maybe it’s her favorite, I don’t know. But I’m getting really tired of seeing it. :rofl: Please, Liz! Buy something hot pink or electric blue! Or anything besides lime green!
And speaking of news, shouldn’t reporters be required to use good grammar??? Our local news (which is always quite hysterically funny without meaning to be) has two women who drive me insane. One fills in for the regular anchor and this chick can’t read the teleprompter to save her life. She stumbles over words, loses her place, and comes off looking like a complete airhead. :useyourhead: Then last night, this other chick uses the term “passerby-ers” instead of “passersby”. :rofl: Hello? Took me all of two seconds to look it up in the dictionary. But could she be bothered to do the same before doing her story? Of course not. Ah, well. They may look like idiots, but they do provide me with hours of entertainment. LOL!
