I finished Shanna Swendson’s Once Upon Stilettos last night. You MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!! You can read it without having read Enchanted Inc., but I think you should buy and read both. They are both excellent!!!! (Yes, I got a special deal on exclamation points, why do you ask?
) I already want to re-read Stilettos, but I’m going to wait until I at least finish the rest of my new books. But I just love these characters and the storyline. Now I’m going to be chomping at the bit until the third book comes out which isn’t going to be for awhile yet. *dramatic sigh*
Anyhoo. Onward.
I only wrote a paragraph last night. I just couldn’t get my imagination in gear. Plus I think I need to work out how the next scene’s going to work before I can sit down and start writing.
Last night, in addition to NCIS and The Unit, I watched the Dynasty reunion show. It was a hoot seeing everyone. A lot of them I hadn’t seen since the show went off the air.
Okay. Now I need to go do some research for the paranormal chick lit murder mystery.

Damn! I forgot all about the Dynasty reunion. I love watching those things. Did Linda Evans look as awful as she did in the commercials?
Re: writing. I’ve had nights like that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
I’ll have to look up those books for my TBB pile.

A&E did a Biography on Joan Collins a few years ago, and I was amused to learn that in real life, nobody has a bad word to say about her. And yet she plays the uber-bitch so well. (I saw a bit of the reunion thing on an entertainment show and I must say she looks good. If she’s had surgery my compliments to her doctors, and can Joan Rivers please consult them?)
Too much planning may be the enemy of creativity. Maybe you could pick a day and just write on the scene sort of freestyle, and see what you think of the results? I know I sometimes waste my time planning a scene or bogging down because the plan isn’t clear–but if I just go write it, I know how to make it make sense.
Anyway, best of luck with it. Don’t mean to

Eve, Linda looked… well, let’s just say she hasn’t aged as gracefully as Joan Collins.
Shelley, Joan Collins is still a knockout. I wish I looked that good NOW, let alone when I turn her age!
As for planning, I never plan too much.
I’m pretty much a fly by the seat of my pants type writer. Unfortunately, that’s gotten me into trouble, too. So I sort of can’t win either way.
No need to apologize, though. I frequently need a good virtual smack.

Darn it. I missed that! Would have been fun. I loved watching Dynasty as a kid.

I posted earlier this morning and its not here. I bet I forgot to click the button. Sigh….
My TBR is a force of nature, threatening to overwhelm my house. I’m so glad the mail comes before hubby gets home so I can hide the Amazon boxes. Anyhow, sounds like good reads. Any writing done is an accomplishment.

Dude… two words you totally missed out on.
Veronica Mars.

Tori, I remember when you read Enchanted, you loved it too! I’m sure Shanna loves you are loving the series!

Michelle, it was a real hoot!
Rene, they’re very good reads.
I don’t think I’ve ever loved a series as much as I love this one.
Danica, I’m so pissed. Veronica Mars wasn’t on last night either! So now I’ve got to wait until Sunday.
Kelly, well, as long as she doesn’ think I’m a nutcase stalker type person.
Of course, I’d have to actually leave my house to be a real stalker.

[...] Then last year, the second book, Once Upon Stilettos, made its appearance. (Here’s what I had to say at the time.) Still fun and fresh and wonderful. The characters are delightful and, at the risk of repeating myself, fun. I want to meet them in person! Okay, I’d probably freak at the weirdness, but that’s beside the point. It was an excellent follow-up. [...]
