Yes, boys and girls, today I’m going to go on indefinitely about last night’s season finale of Lost. :confused68: Wow!!! If you watch and haven’t seen it yet, be warned, I’m about to post some stuff that happened. In no particular order (just as I remember them):

I knew he looked vaguely familiar, but didn’t twig to the fact that Kelvin (Desmond’s button-pushing buddy) was the CIA dude who got Sayid to work for the U.S. at one point during the Gulf War!!!
Are Walt & Michael really going to be allowed to leave?
What are the Others going to do with Kate, Jack, and Sawyer?
What about that bird that called Hurley’s name?
Then there were all those tubes for the reports from Pearl Station that exited the pneumatic chute in the middle of nowhere!
We found out Desmond got his sailboat from Libby (and was her hair ugly, or what!)… I wonder what her last name was?
Then there’s the Widmore connection to all sorts of things: the construction company Michael worked for, Sun’s pregnancy test, the box company where Locke worked.
What was the deal with that Lord of the Rings-esque statue Sayid, Sun and Jin saw?
So, despite the hatch door flying into space, then crashing almost on top of Claire, Aaron & Rose’s husband whose name escapes me at the moment, Charlie was able to escape the hatch when Desmond used the failsafe. (And how’s that for a run-on sentence?) So what happened to Locke & Eko?
And then the end? Desmond’s girlfriend, Penny Widmore, and her Portuguese scientists who were searching for Desmond and found “an electromagnetic anomaly”. She obviously knew how to find him, just not where.

On the horoscope front:

“It is possible that a big change is in store for you in the near future. (Oh goody!) It may be that you have come to realize that your current home and neighborhood is no longer such a good fit. (Um, I doubt that considering we’ve only been here a few months.) If you have been toying with the idea of moving, today you may get some news that motivates you to make your fantasy a reality. (What? Like a lottery win? Though I’d have to play to win…) Today is a good day for perusing the real estate section; you might be pleasantly surprised by what you find there. (Oh, any day is a good day to peruse real estate listings. Silly astrologers. LOL!)

Or, there’s this one:

“A good chance to reach a goal is stifled by opportunities that get missed. (Uh-oh… :duh:) Your obsession with paying attention to details has interfered with your ability to see the big picture and today you will need a larger scope. (Hmm. Aren’t writers SUPPOSED to pay attention to details? :useyourhead:)

And finally, we have this one:

“Business as usual just isn’t cutting it anymore—it’s time for a change, and a big one too. (There’s that ‘big change’ thing again. Curious.) Any investments you make right now have big returns, especially if you’re willing to branch out in a new direction. (I wish they’d give me some suggestions, for cryin’ out loud! Sheesh.)

Okay, that’s enough prattling for one day, I think. Unless I think of something IMPORTANT I forgot. :)

  1. I think Jin, Sun and Sayid are going to spot Michael leaving. Don’t think they’re getting away clean. Don’t know what they want with Jack, Kate and Sawyer, did they have another plan perhaps? Seems they kinda walked into that trap.

Big revelations on the hatch! Now we know why the plane went down. Gotta love Desmond.

That bird was freaky. Overall I’m very pleased with the answers we got and not annoyed at the new questions. I’ve heard Lost is going to be a 3 year arc. HAve you heard anything?

  2. Something important? You mean like: Taylor Hicks is the new American Idol? :whoo:

Sorry… I don’t watch Lost (*gasp of horror*)

  3. And what was with the freaky noise and the violet sky? And I still wonder if the disease is real. There are so many “seeds” of conflict here!

And I don’t think Walt and Michael will get out. Remember Desmond sailed for two weeks. They’ll end up right back where they started. :waving2:

  4. Hi Mandy! I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Sayid & Co. spot Michael. I’ve also wondered if Henry the Fake just plain lied to Michael about them being able to escape. It did sort of look like Jack & Kate were giving each other some kind of signal, didn’t it? I haven’t heard the three year arc theory. Since I’ve discovered all these fun Lost sites I may go check them out this summer while waiting for the new season to start.

Marianne - LOL! Well, I guess that’s important to some people. But I don’t watch AI, so it never crossed my mind.

  5. Michelle - I kind of wondered about that freaky noise & light (didn’t look violet to me!), too. But then again, they didn’t tell us what the fail-safe was, so hopefully they’ll explain it next season. I’ve wondered if the whole quarantine thing was yet another “test”.

  6. I haven’t watched Lost since the first five or so episodes. Just can’t get into it.
Cripes. I don’t watch Idol, either. Hmmmmmmm.
    Makes one wonder. :useyourhead:

  7. Loved every freaking second! :whoo: Bernard, his name is Bernard :) And Claire kissed Charlie! My guess is that Michael is going to help Jack, Kate, and Sawyer get out–they had plenty of time to work out a plan. And we don’t know if they contacted Sayid. I’ rewatching season one this weekend…my mom hasn’t seen it

  8. What a great Lost! So many questions answered and so many new questions! I can’t wait for the new season. I am just glad the writers got on the ball and didn’t let it just stagnate.

  9. Quit watching Lost last year - just got tired of waiting for everything. Too slow with answers - and from some of the people I’ve talked to, I’m not the only one. Isn’t it funny how people just don’t have the patience anymore?

  10. Crystal - Well, you watch Doctor Who, so I’ll let you slide. :D

Marty - :duh: Bernard! Of course. Why couldn’t I remember that? Sheesh.

Sandy - I’m ready for the new season NOW! :)

Eve - Oh, but it’s fun to see what connects to what previous event and people! Or at least I think so. :)

  13. Mary - I actually looking forward to watching reruns of Lost. I never like watching reruns!

  14. K - Well, I suppose in a way Lost is a soap opera. But it’s sort of a science fiction/conspiracy/fantasy weird soap opera. :D

Hmm. I wonder how J.J. Abrams pitched this show? The X-Files (sort of) meets Robinson Crusoe?
