I found out yesterday afternoon that there’s a gangster buried in a nearby town. He was a cohort of Pretty Boy Floyd’s! How cool is that? (Okay, yes, I’m a little strange thinking a gangster is cool. But he’s a HISTORIC gangster.
(Just ignore the fact I’d never heard of him until yesterday, ‘kay?) Oh, his name was Frank “Jelly” Nash. In case you were wondering.
Nothing much going on here today. I’m wiped out because I only got about 3 hours sleep last night.
I’m listening to Sirius Radio’s “Disorder” channel/station today. That’s the one that plays Celtic music for three hours every Saturday. And I’ve just kept it on there. Even though it says it plays “free form rock” (whatever the heck that is!), they’re playing all kinds of stuff today. Right now is a band called Taj Mahal & the Hula Blues Band.
Now they’re playing Bob Dylan who (whom?) I’ve never much cared for. And earlier they played John Phillip Sousa’s Stars & Stripes Forever. Very patriotic!
I’m still reading through my shapeshifter story. The curious thing about it is the hero is blond. I have nothing against blonds, mind you. However, by and large, I’m not attracted to them. Give me tall, dark, and hunky any day. Almost every story I have in the works (and trust me, you don’t want to know just how many that is!) has a hero with dark hair. Then here comes Stefan, slinking in and telling me he’s blond, thank you very much. Righty-ho! If he insists.
Don’t you just love it when your characters are bossier than anyone you’ve ever met in your entire life?
Oh! I just found out I get the N Channel (a subsidiary of MTV, I think) which is Noggin during the day. Why is this a momentous occasion, you ask? Because they have a show called Whistler which stars the luscious Nicholas Lea. And the first episode airs tonight, so I can see it from the beginning!
Today’s ‘scopes:
“Love and passion are very much at the forefront of your thoughts today. (Today and every day.
) Work seems quite tedious in comparison with the rich fantasy going on inside your head! (Well, duh!
) If possible, make a point of getting together tonight with your mate. He is likely feeling as amorous as you. You two have much to celebrate, with the celestial atmosphere being so conducive to the deepening of your relationship. (Yes, that would be the one who isn’t real.
)”
“A financial matter is settled in your favor, (:whoo: Show me the money!) but not before someone has his or her say and makes a big scene. (I’ll just ignore them.) Remain calm and oblivious until you get what is rightfully yours. (Sure, I can do oblivious. LOL!) Then you can speak out and be properly heard.”
“Be extravagant. Treat yourself to a two-hour lomi lomi massage (What the hell is a lomi lomi massage???) or a delicious meal at a five-star restaurant. ( I could spend the rest of my life looking for a five star restaurant around here.) You’ll feel all the tensions in your life melt away with a little judiciously applied indulgence. (Actually, I’ve been thinking about this for the past week or so. It would be cool if I could find a day spa. Get a massage—a kind of I’ve actually heard of!—get a manicure which I’ve never had before. Maybe even a pedicure, though my feet are really ticklish. Sounds heavenly!)”

Actually, he sounds familiar. I wonder if he had anything to do with the building of Las Vegas.
I’ve had characters do that to me on occassion. I’m all set for things to go one way and, while I wasn’t looking, I swear! They go off and do something else.

Okay, I’m taking your word for it an TiVo’ing “Whistler”… Nicholas Lea is a cutie… I was really ticked when he was killed in Vertical Limit.
Have a great weekend… I’ll stop in to see your meme response tomorrow!

Mandy – Well, from what little I read about him online ol’ Jelly was just a bank and train robber. This would be more cool if he turned out to be related.
Marianne – I just saw an ad for it saying it would be on tonight, so I hope they know what they’re talking about.
And, yes! I was SOOO pissed when his character died in Vertical Limit!

That’s interesting. I don’t usually make my heroes blond. In fact, I don’t think I ever have. *pondering*
Black, brown, and even a redhead. But no fair-haired among the bunch. Quite humorous since there were a fair number of blondies decorating my walls when I was growing up.
Grins*

Nicholas Lea? Really? I’m subjected to Noggin during the day because of the baby shows, but at night it becomes a teen channel. Will have to check it out.
BTW, I’ve seen the Bonnie & Clyde death car. They have it at Whiskey Pete’s in Stateline, NV.

blonde haired hero? I’ve never written one. Hmmm… Not usually attracted to blonde males in real life either…

Danica – I’m easily amused.
Crystal – My guys usually have black or brown hair (I’ve never done a redhead). Out of, um, about 31 only 5 are blond.
Rene – Whistler is rife with teenaged angst, and Nick plays one kid’s dad. But it’s nice to see him working so much.
Kacey – Poor blond guys really get the short end of the stick around here, don’t they? *g*
AWTM – It’s pretty toasty up here, too! There’s a reason I hate going outside in the summer. I don’t have the resiliency I did when I was a kid.
I think I looked for that book at our library and they didn’t have it. Must check the rest of the system… Thanks for the reminder!
