Not much to talk about today. Watched the season finale of Treasure Hunters last night. I was rather disappointed the Geniuses won. *sigh* I was rooting for Team Air Force and/or The Southie Boys. Ah well. Another good episode of Life on Mars last night, too.
On the writing front, however, I wrote THREE pages last night!!!
I decided it was time to fast forward in time a bit to get on with the story, so Stacy & Stefan and Co. have arrived in the Big Easy in the middle of the night. And Stacy gets her first look at the mansion she inherited. Her first comment, “If I didn’t love it, I’d be totally creeped out.” It’s very Victorian Gothic.
I just did some calculations and even with adding some descriptive stuff when I start keying all this in, I’m not even to the halfway point. I really thought I was closer to The End than that. Oh well.
Okay, not really. But I just saw an ad for the new Adrian Brody movie Hollywoodland. It’s about a detective’s examination of the mysterious death of TV’s Superman, George Reeves. Reeves supposedly committed suicide in 1959. But there were a lot of squirrelly things about his death which led a lot of people to think he was murdered. Anyway, should be an interesting film!
Anyhoo…
Busy TV night tonight. Kyle XY, season finale of Treasure Hunters, Lost Worlds, and Life on Mars. Watched an interesting show on the History Channel last night. Not to get into a religious debate, but Exodus Decoded set out to prove the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt really happened. According to the host/filmmaker there is plenty of evidence to prove it. Personally, I believed it as a matter of faith, but I thought the guy had some really compelling evidence to prove it scientifically and archaeologically. It’s just that nobody had ever pulled the information and artifacts together before. Of course, he could have been making the whole thing up, but I should think there must be something to it. Must investigate… there could be in a book in there somewhere! :D
I wrote another two pages last night.
Stacy’s sister took the news of shapeshifters in our midst a lot better than expected. And she agreed to tell the rest of the family what’s going on with Stacy. And Stefan promised to send ’shifters he trusts who also happen to be in the FBI to help out. (Why they’re not helping Stacy I have yet to figure out.)
I hate to admit this, but I find myself actually liking Jessica Simpson’s song A Public Affair. It’s sort of got that bubble gum music thing going on, but it’s got a really catchy dance beat.
I just try to avoid thinking about who’s actually singing it. ;)
“Money and your personal finances are going to be emphasized once again this week, so hang onto your hat. You are going to find that before matters settle down, they may go a little crazy. (Well, swell. Isn’t that special?) Don’t make any major purchases or sign any agreements, as you may not be sure of what is going on. (There’s something new. LOL!) It is better to wait until you have all of the facts. Mercury opposes Neptune on Monday, and this may immediately bring confusion to the situation you are in. Someone may be trying to give you false information, so bide your time. (Are we back to that backstabbing friend again?) There is a New Moon on Wednesday in your communication zone, which is great for getting started on a number of new projects. (Shouldn’t I finish the one I’m working on now first?) If you want to write a book, learn a bit more about a new subject, give talks, or begin a new advertising campaign, this is the time to go for it. (Cool!) On Thursday you are not in the frame of mind to put up with any nonsense at all, (So you guys better keep that in mind.
) and as Mercury will trine Pluto, you will be determined to get to the heart of the matter. Saturday may find you temporarily short of cash and feeling rather silly about it. It will pass, but sort something out beforehand. Shop carefully on Sunday!”
Last night’s writing tally was not-quite-TWO pages. If I hadn’t been abbreviating so much (my hands were driving me nuts, so I tried to keep things as short as possible), I probably would have hit the two page mark. Still, I came close. Stacy has now told her sister what’s going on. Even the shapeshifter part.
Luckily, her sis (who isn’t the mother of the kidnapped kids) knows Stacy wouldn’t make up something like that at such a scary time. And she’s pretty sure she hasn’t gone ’round the bend. :D
Today I’m going to take a break from shapeshifters and introduce you to another of my heroes. This is Ford. He’s the Los Angeles police lieutenant in my 1920s murder mystery.
