Have I ever mentioned here how much I hate, loathe, and despise Daylight Saving Time? It is a pain in the neck (not to mention other body parts). I miss living in Arizona, the last bastion of Daylight Saving Freedom Time where they don’t put up with this nonsense.

And now our illustrious leaders have decided to EXTEND Daylight Saving Time next year under the theory it’ll “save energy”. :useyourhead: Huh? How??? People will still have to go home and cook dinner, etc. at the same time as they do without it.They’ll still watch television. They’ll probably still turn on the lights because they’ll be indoors because it’ll likely be too cold outside to do anything even if it’s light enough! If I’m missing something here, I wish somebody would clue me in!

Er, not that I have any strong opinions about this or anything.

Okay, enough of that. Let’s talk about something FUN! This morning Trish was talking about imaginary friends and TV characters she (and others) played with when they were kids and it got me to thinking about my own Adventures as a Mary Sue. :) So, here’s my list of TV shows I always put myself in when I was growing up (some of these, of course, I saw in reruns).

Bonanza (Did you know there was a Cartwright daughter? That was me! )
The Big Valley (Most girls had the hots for Lee Majors in this show. Not me. Just to be different, I had the hots for both Peter Breck and Richard Long.)
Lancer (Yet another western where I was the most fickle girl in the world. I had the hots for both Wayne Maunder and James Stacy.)
Banacek (Yeah, I had the hots for George Peppard’s Boston P.I., too.)
Barnaby Jones (I vaguely seem to recall making myself Barnaby’s niece in this show. LOL!)
Welcome Back, Kotter (Yes, boys and girls, I was a Sweathog. )
Ellery Queen (Oddly enough, as much as I crushed on Jim Hutton, I pretended I was his younger but just as savvy sister. Never mind that Ellery never had a sister in the books. *g*)
S.W.A.T. (Hubba, hubba! Men in uniform! Mark Shera and Robert Urich. Need I say more?)
The Hardy Boys (It was Frank, aka Parker Stevenson, all the way for me.)
Battlestar Galactica (Yes, I put myself in the old series. I was determined to whip that slut Cassieopia’s butt :boxing: for going anywhere near my beloved Starbuck.)
The Dukes of Hazzard (Bo Duke, baby! I even had the hots for John Schneider as Pa Kent on Smallville.)
Hart to Hart (I just wanted to be Jennifer in the worst way on this show.)
Magnum P.I. (Strangely enough, I never lusted after Magnum all that much. I just hung out with him. Sometimes I was married to the mysterious Robin Masters, other times I was the mysterious Robin Masters. But it was a deep, dark secret that Robin Masters was actually a woman. ;) )

So, is it any wonder I became a writer?

Michelle asked yesterday if I was going to submit the shapeshifter book. Well, yes, that IS the plan. However, since that was just the first—very rough—draft, it’s going to need some help before it goes anywhere. I need a break from it before I start work on revisions.

Laverne on Laverne and Shirley. And I wanted to be Leather Tuscadero in the WORST way. Oh yeah.
