No, not the LIVING dead. No zombies involved. Just the plain, old, garden-variety dead. Well, sort of. I’m talking about Dia de los Muertos. It’s a two-day national holiday in Mexico and other Latin American communities. It’s also celebrated in the Philippines. Here, it’s All Saints Day, but they’re not really the same thing. Dia de los Muertos is actually an ancient Aztec celebration of the ancestors. As morbid as it sounds, it’s actually supposed to be quite an uplifting, happy celebration.

In the wacky local news department, we’ve had another counterfeit money incident. Some guy tried to pay for his gas at a station in Batesville, Arkansas with a fake $100 bill. What’s so hysterically funny is the money 1) had no picture, 2) had Bill Clinton’s name on it, and 3) THE INK WAS RUNNING ON IT!!!!!. :confused68: Yeah, nobody would notice THAT.

Two of my horoscopes today talk about creativity.

If you’ve been feeling a little under the weather, expect to wake up today feeling even stronger than you were before. Your enthusiasm is up and new ideas are flowing into your brain. Whatever you work on today should really stand out, and you’ll experience a new sense of power and optimism. A warning: Don’t be too intense; others might get the wrong impression. Be your usual sensitive self and all will go smoothly.

Then there’s this one:

Creative projects progress at the speed of light when you work with the right partner. Look around. Someone who has talent in this area might also be a good match for you in the realm of romance too.

I like this one even better!

Busy TV night tonight. Jericho, Bones, Criminal Minds, Lost, CSI: NY, Sci Fi Investigates, and The Nine. Frankly, I’m swiftly losing interest in The Nine. I think I’d rather watch Boston Rob mug his way through an investigation of ghosts and the afterlife in New York City. :) Especially since their supposedly haunted hotel freaked him out during their Mothman investigation last week. *g*

I’m up to page 42 of my read-through. Parts of it are quite entertaining. Others… not so much. We’ve established the police detective is an English immigrant. The “French” film star was born & raised in Pasadena. And the murder victim was a jerk and quite possibly deserved what he got. Yes, folks, non-stop excitement. LOL!
