Is anyone else already sick to death of hearing about Microsoft’s new operating system, Vista? Last night, our local news Would. Not. Shut. Up. About. It.
I was ready to scream. Besides, everything I’ve heard thus far makes it sound like it does what Mac OS X has done for a few years now.
Only probably not as well. *g*
From the publishing world, best-selling author Sidney Sheldon has died. He was 89. He wrote such novels as The Other Side of Midnight and Windmills of the Gods. He was also affiliated with such TV shows as Hart to Hart, I Dream of Jeannie, The Patty Duke Show, and many others.
Hmm. THREE of my horoscopes today say I’m going to be moody and emotional. Isn’t that special?
Tonight we have the return of Bones.
Wrote another page last night. The rebels finally attacked.
Relic Hunter Chick took out a couple of them herself, then The Billionaire Benefactor saved her life when somebody tried to chop her head off with a machete.
I have been getting a lot of spam here in the blog comments lately. It’s getting very, very old. I may be forced to do something drastic like moderate all the comments or have the verification thingie. *sigh*
On the archaeology front, from National Geographic there’s a story about an ancient village being discovered near Stonehenge. (Relic Hunter Chick is going to be so annoyed that she wasn’t there at the time.
)
Loved last night’s Heroes. Hiro is so wonderful. I just want to hug him and squeeze him and call him George.
And I think it’s brilliant stunt casting to hire George Takei (Sulu from the original Star Trek for those who didn’t know) as Hiro’s dad. Any guesses as to who Claire’s real dad is?
24 was semi-interesting, there at the end. Boy, oh, boy, Jack’s family sure puts the D in dysfunctional. LOL!
On the writing front, I wrote about a page last night. Need to get them back on the road, so to speak. They’re still piddling around their camp which is not getting anything resolved.
I just got a news alert that Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was euthanized this morning. :( He fought the good fight. I’d like to think he’s now racing around and having fun with the likes of Seabiscuit, Man o’ War, Secretariat, and Ruffian.
I’m not sure how I feel about last night’s episode of The Dresden Files. I won’t do any spoilers, but it seemed like there was something missing. I’m curious to see what others think.
And what was up with that extra scene at the end of Battlestar Galatica? I couldn’t understand a word either Roslyn or Six said. And the scene wasn’t captioned. Very annoying.
Anyway. Writing.
I managed about a page last inght. And, you know how I said I took Saturday night off? I forgot I wrote a couple of paragraphs right before I went to sleep that night. Anyway, last night RHC asked what they’d do if rebels showed up and she was told they were well-armed.
She wanted her own gun, thank you very much. And much to my surprise, she knows a lot more about guns than I’d anticipated. In fact, her expertise surprised everybody in their camp. *g* I suspect she learned this skill from one of her brothers. Of course, since she’s frequently off on some wild expedition (like the one she’s on now) I’m sure she needed to learn how to protect herself. Still, I really was startled by how well she handled the gun she was given.
