It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood as Mister Rogers used to always say. We had to turn on the a/c yesterday afternoon/evening. Spring has sprung with a vengeance. Predicted high today is 84. Usually, we’d just open the windows, but even with them open & fans going yesterday it started getting really hot in the house. I don’t do heat in this part of the country all that well. I hate hate HATE humidity. I am a desert rat and proud of it. Just wish we could live there instead of here.

Y’know, ordinarily I wouldn’t have a problem with this. I love giving and receiving hugs. However, right now, I doubt anyone would want me coming anywhere near them. The only thing I’d be spreading is germs.

I watched a very silly movie last night on the Sci Fi Channel called Reign of the Gargoyles. It was set during World War II and the Nazis reanimated these evil gargoyles thinking they could use them against the Allies. Too bad the gargoyles were free agents and killed all the Nazis. Of course, they also started killing all the people in the French Resistance and the American & British flyboys. Anyway, I watched it primarily because Joe Penny was in it and I’ve loved him ever since he was on the 1980s show Riptide (which I just discovered is out on DVD! ).

Busy TV day today. I’ve got murders to solve in England (Midsomer Murders and Poirot), a house to build (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, paranormal mysteries to solve (The Dresden Files and Blood Ties), contestants to cheer on (Deal or No Deal), and the season finale of Battlestar Galactica (which I’ve pretty much lost interest in, but rumor has it we’ll find out who the Final Five Cylons are—they should be on Survivor ).

Plus I’ll still be reading through Bounty Hunter Chick’s book. What I have of it, that is.

Nothing much going on here today. It’s still warm. Predicted high of 82 today. It’s 58 right now. Now if I could just get rid of this cold/allergy crap….

I did some writing/reading last night on Bounty Hunter Chick. She amuses me. And I needed a break from the shapeshifting clan.

New episode of Robin Hood tonight. Also on Lifetime Movies they’re airing the two hour premiere of the new Lifetime Channel series Blood Ties. This vampire series is based on books by Tanya Huff which were rather grim but really good. The one episode I’ve seen was good. But I missed the premiere episode, so I’m glad I get to see it so soon after the fact.

Well, Wednesday was the first day of Spring and it’s busting out all over here. Highs in the upper 70s/lower 80s. Love it! Except for the aggravated allergies/cold I seem to have acquired. *grumble* Oh well. This too shall pass.

Personally, I don’t consider a 70/30 split all that even. But that’s just me. I think the powerful (instead of cute) car and shooting a gun being fun are what tipped the balance. *g*

Last night was the second episode of the new Jeff Goldblum series Raines. One line especially made me laugh out loud. Now if you haven’t seen the show, Jeff’s character is a cop who imagines the homicide victims talking to him as he investigates their murders. Last night, he was driving somewhere and the victim was sitting in the passenger seat singing and doing the Macarena. Raines rolls his eyes and says, “I’ve got a hallucination of a dead guy doing the Macarena in my car. Could this day get any worse?” Or something to that effect. Maybe you had to be there. *g*
