Today is the 30th anniversary of the release of the first and original Star Wars. I hate to admit it, but I didn’t see it when it was first released. I think I saw it two or three years later. I loved it, of course.
My uncle’s thoroughbred ran last night. She came in second!!!
That’s the best any of his horses has done since I’ve been keeping track. I’m so happy for him.
Since we had reruns last night, I watched recorded shows. Cities of the Underground: Edinburgh was quite interesting. I learned some things about the city I never knew before. Then I watched 1000 Places to See Before You Die: Cambodia. It wasn’t quite as interesting. They didn’t spend nearly enough time at Angkor Wat. Oh well.
On the writing front, I wrote about a page and a half, I think. Maddie poked at a sore spot of Alex’s last night. He stalked out of the room, so she had to drag the information out of his friend/general factotum. Poor Alex has a dark past involving spies, Siberia, and most likely torture. I’m thinking some of these scenes I’m writing are going to end up in a different order than I have them right now.

I did see Star Wars in the theater when it came out (I was an infant..LOL…)
I remember taking the day off school (with permission — my mom was with me!) for the “Jedi” opening — a Wednesday — and getting to the theater at about 5:30 a.m. to get in. The crowd was so bad that, when they opened the doors, a guy got trampled and broke his arm. The paramedics wanted to take him to the hospital. He said, “After the movie.”
Great going on the writing!

I like the scene above, no matter the order. Kudos on the writing.
WTG on your uncle’s horse placement..second place, not bad.

…And it’s also a Hitchhiker’s anniversary.
Do you know where your towel is?
That book sounds like a lot of fun. You’d better finish it and submit it!

I didn’t know about the Anniversary of Star Wars. As a matter of fact I forgot the stamps went on sale this week, too.
Congratulations to your Uncle’s horse.
The scene sounds interesting, and very tempting.

I saw it when it came out. I was twelve and in the 7th grade. I was so excited after seeing the previews on the Friday night monster movie show I used to watch when I lived in the Bay Area. My sister and mom thought I was crazy for wanting to stand in line for 2 hours for a movie. But we did it!!! I still remember being blown away by it. I still have a T-shirt I got right after I saw the movie.
