I love that phrase. It’s so very British. And so descriptive! Not that i know anyone who it would fit… well, I take that back, but I’m not going to get into that. Anyway, I’m not even using it to describe barking dogs. No, the dogs in our neighborhood who bark don’t bother me. What sends me into hysterical laughter are our barking FROGS. Yes, frogs! I don’t know what kind of frogs they are but they make the most hellacious BIG sound for such small creatures. Too, too funny! I told my dad they sounded like they had frogs in their throats. He didn’t find that nearly as funny as I did, though. :D And, no, it doesn’t sound like croaking. It sounds like barking. For a long time I thought it was some stupid bird, but my dad discovered the other day it was frogs.

I heard comic actor and game show panelist Charles Nelson Reilly died on Friday. Funny thing, though, I thought he’d died a few years ago. Oops. Anyway, he was always a hoot on Match Game.

I’m still in the middle of My Brother Michael which is one of Mary Stewart’s books set in Greece. It’s one of my favorites. The heroine’s not entirely too stupid to live. She’s pretty spunky. She tried to whap one of the villains over the head with a flashlight while he fought with the hero. It’s hardly her fault he moved so she only hit is back/shoulder instead. I’ll be finishing this one of up tonight then I’ll move on to my favorite Mary Stewart of all time, The Moon-Spinners. I think I saw the Disney movie with Hayley Mills before I read the book. As always, the book’s better. It’s another of the Greek books.

I watched the first six hours of Threshold yesterday afternoon and last night. Whew! Tonight the only thing on is Waking the Dead, so I’ll record that later and do some more catching up on other shows.

I wrote about a page and a half last night, I think. Maybe a little more than that. Maddie & Alex are still discussing what happened to him Way Back When before he met her. She’s not pleased and wants to go after the people who tortured him after they deal with her own problem.

And on a more somber note, here in the United States it’s Memorial Day when we should remember all the folks in the military who have served or are serving to keep us safe and free. Thank you for your service!

  1. BARKING frogs? Weird, but interesting!
The situation with your characters sounds as though it will lead to good emotional things for them. WTG.
And as Chris is a veteran, we never forget the days when others have served and and are serving. Especially since we still have friends in the Military. Thank you for remembering them.

  2. You gotta use those barking frogs in a story… Or would that be too weird for belief?

Hope you had a good Memorial Day.

  3. The frogs around here are so loud. The kids in the neighborhood, mine included, are always catching them. Hard to believe something so small could be so darn loud.
