Did you see the news stories about Egyptian archaeological officials using DNA to identify Queen (or should I say King since she called herself a pharaoh?) Hatshepsut? Very cool stuff! Hatshepsut was probably the most powerful woman on the planet in the 15th Century B.C. She took the title of Pharaoh, wore a fake beard and wore men’s clothing. But when her reign ended, all traces of her pretty much disappeared, including her mummy. Then in 1903 a mummy was discovered, but archaeologists had no clue who she was. So she was filed away (okay, you know what I mean!) and forgotten about. Then a sarcophogus with the name of Hatshepsut on it was found with only a broken tooth remaining. They matched it to the unidentified mummy. And Bob’s your uncle! Er, Hatshepsut’s your pharaoh? Anyway, if you’re into Egyptian archaeology like I am, it’s very cool. :)

Not a lot on tonight. A new episode of Gil Mayo and a new episode of Painkiller Jane. I’m getting kind of bored with the latter, but the previews seem to have Jane kissing Connor which might be amusing to see. There’s also the usual plethora of ghostly and mysterious happenings shows. And next Friday is the season premiere of Doctor Who!!! :whoo: :cheer: Not that I’m excited or anything….

I’ve been meaning to mention this for awhile now, but kept forgetting. There’s a new commercial out for Subaru that leaves me giggling like a lunatic. All these animals out in the wild start saying, “Ricky!” (But the one that really cracks me up is the porcupine who says the name several times super fast.) Then Ricky arrives at his destination in the middle of nowhere and gets out of his car. Very cute guy, too! It’s a lot funnier than how I’ve described it.

I only wrote one page last night. So sad. Maddie spent more time freaking out the surly constable. That was kind of fun. *g*

Well, yesterday was Tony Blair’s last day as Prime Minister.
Next up, Gordon Brown.
And I still think he looks like Monty Python’s Terry Jones.

I’ve come to the conclusion the writers of Traveler have no clear cut clue where they’re going with this story. Sort of like me. *g* The best thing about last night’s episode was the appearance of Tyler Labine. Tyler was last seen—by me, at least—as Dave on Invasion.

Tonight it’s back to the High Seas with Pirate Master, back to ghost hunting with Dead Famous (we’re searching for the ghost of Billy the Kid tonight), and the premiere of the new USA show Burn Notice. Burn Notice is being aired commercial free (an hour and five minutes with no commercials?! :confused68: I think not!) and it’s on the same time as my ghost hunting pals, so I’ll record it in its later repeat showing (when it apparently has commercials because it’s on for an hour and a half then—can you believe they’ll have 25 minutes of commercials all total?!).

Central Texas has been having massive flooding. :drowning: Hope all my friends there are okay. I’d probably be trapped if I still lived there because no matter which direction you used to get to/from my house, you had to go through low water crossings.

The ankle is healing. Sloooooowly. I hate the “boot” thing you put over the cast to walk. It makes it feel twice as heavy and it’s plenty heavy enough, IMO. But at least I can put a little weight on it. I’ll spare you the details of the dry skin issues, however. ;)

I managed to write two and a half pages last night. :cheer: Yay, me! *g* Maddie found out how to trace the magic used to bring the chandelier down and she’s gone to visit with the cops. The Inspector was pleased to see her. Her new nemesis the Constable, was not. LOL.

For those who are interested, the season premiere of Eureka is July 10th, so two weeks from yesterday. I can hardly wait! *bounce bounce bounce* And I’m glad I watched the last couple of episodes of the first season last night. Got me in the mood. I do love this show! And the DVD of the first season is set to be released on July 3rd.

The only thing on tonight is Traveler which is already gearing up for its last few episodes. Very short season!

So, after whining yesterday about being stuck on the Kitchen Sink Book I managed to write two pages on it last night. I do wish I was a better plotter, though. It might be nice to have at least a vague idea where I’m going with this….
