Stolen from Marianne:

You Are Paper

Crafty and creative, you are able to adapt freely to almost any situation.
People tend to underestimate you, unless they’ve truly seen what you are capable of.
Deep down, you’re always scheming and thinking up new plans. Your mind is constantly active.
You are quite capable of anything you dream of. You can always figure out a way to get what you want.

You can wrap a rock person up in your sheet of trickery.

A scissor person can sneak up and cut you to pieces.

When you fight: No one can anticipate your next move

If someone makes you mad: You’ll attack them mercilessly when they’re unprepared

Are You Rock, Paper, or Scissors?

I think I’d have preferred being something other than Paper, but c’est la vie.

And here’s a fun tip from wikiHow on how to kick down a door. You never know when you—or one of your characters—might need to do this. :)

More Royal Ascot racing this morning, then I’ll be watching Dumb Witness which is a Poirot movie.

Today’s horoscope:

The ideas you have today could become wildly popular. A chance to express yourself should not be turned down. Look to connect with a theme you already know will get people interested. Make it your own this afternoon or early evening.

I like the sound of that first sentence especially! Now if I can turn “wildly popular” into “highly lucrative”, I’ll be a happy camper. *g*

Wrote two and a half pages last night. The Detective Inspector asked Maddie & Alex’s opinion about what happened (he’d been ordered to cooperate with them). Maddie asked if he believed in magic. His assistant (who’s the cliche-ridden rude younger cop  ) couldn’t believe his boss would even consider magic as an option. So Maddie poked around his head and told him to be quiet or she’d tell everyone about some Very Embarrassing Event from his past. He then does his imitation of a fish out of water. *g*

So. It’s Friday. It sure got here fast. It’s hard to believe it’s already June 22nd.

Pirate Master was amusing last night. Later, I watched 1000 Places to See Before You Die. This time they were in Canada. One of the places they visited was the Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort in Whistler. I kept thinking the town sounded familiar and I couldn’t figure out why. Then it hit me. Nick Lea was in a series last season called—very originally—Whistler. He played a husband/father/bar owner whose Olympic snowboarder son died under mysterious circumstances, leaving lots of secrets. Unfortunately, even Nick Lea wasn’t enough to keep me interested in the show.

Tonight is the series finale of Stargate: SG-1. It’s been a long, fun ride, folks! It’s also the season finale of Stargate: Atlantis. And we also have Painkiller Jane and Gil Mayo. And right now I’m watching the horse races from Royal Ascot in England. :)

Has anyone else seen those “Be Hospitable” commercials from Hilton Hotels? Is it just me, or does it seem really funny these started airing about the time Paris started having all her troubles? Trying to earn a little good publicity, per chance?

I wrote three pages last night. I’m still baffled how/why the chandelier came crashing down, but Maddie & Alex are having fun and games with the local constabulary. *g*

What IS thaumaturgy, you may ask? According to my friend Webster, it’s the working of miracles or wonders. Sounds good for a book filled with magic.

Okay, let’s see if I can remember everything that happened. It was a pretty busy episode and I’m not sure I kept up as well as I should have.

Jay & Tyler joined forces with the dude who keeps following them and/or getting them out of trouble. They followed the white van Will had been tossed into. Only two more vans joined the parade to make it more difficult to figure out which one was which. Clever! Only the black dude (does the poor man have a name??? ah, I see elsewhere he’s referred to as Porter) had wisely tagged Will with a tracking device! More clever! Only the guys who grabbed Will had a doohickey that told them he’d been tagged and they cut the tracker out. Ouch! Bummer.

Jay, Tyler & Porter kept driving (out in the country) and came across a barn that very conveniently concealed the van Will had been in. There was blood all over the place. Suddenly, from the adjacent field (of corn, I think) somebody started shooting at them. Porter told the boys to get the heck out of Dodge. So they did. But when we next saw them, they were parked on the side of the road going through all the stuff Porter had in his SUV. And it looked like they’d only gone about a quarter of a mile.

Meanwhile, Will wakes up in a hotel room. A woman enters. He asks if she’s a part of Hometown (a subdivision of Homeland Security? Or something more sinister? I’m still pulling for it to be the Illuminati. ). She says yes and starts asking him lots of questions about his “mission”. Turns out he was supposed to have set up Jay & Tyler to take the fall for the bombing, only they were supposed to die. But when Will got to where the bomb was located some other guy was there. So Will knew his bosses no longer trusted him. He killed the guy (who was the body found after the explosion), cut out that painting (which I got a better look at—it seems to be a painting of the Continental Congress by John Trumbull), then he pulled the fire alarm and got out.

The FBI coroner figured out the body wasn’t Will while all this was going on. So now the FBI knows Will is alive. But they still think Jay & Tyler are involved. Naturally. Then they (the FBI) go to the dead guy’s apartment and discover the guy who works for the Homeland Security dude there destroying evidence. He basically laughs at them after they arrest him. Then he manages to escape from custody.

The chick interrogating Will plays what turns out to be a recording of his girlfriend Maya being tortured so he’ll give up the location of the painting. He says it’s in the trunk of a car at the airport long term parking. (But when a guy goes there to get it, he finds a bomb instead. Ka-boom!) Then the chick tells him Maya’s already dead because she’d killed her two hours before. Will manages to escape and kill the bitch (and she really wasn’t very nice and I think she got just what she deserved). She died with quite a look of surprise on her face. *g*

Jay & Tyler, meanwhile find out the key they got from Maya is for a research locker at a library in Boston, so they head off to Bean Town. Turns out it was a secret stash of passports (of various nationalities) for Will, a gun, and some other papers, etc. Something leads them to head back to NYC (I managed to miss that part *sigh*)

Then they show Will leaving the hotel room and discovering it was more of a movie set inside a warehouse or something. He walks outside with a peculiar expression on his face, but they didn’t show the audience what he was seeing. Very rude!

I wrote two and a half pages last night! Maddie & Alex have offered to play detective and find out why the chandelier came crashing down. Though they need to hurry before the cops arrive as I’m sure they would. *g* I suppose they could always play the Royal card if need be, but I hate to do that. I guess we’ll just see how things go tonight. :)
