After talking about the demise of the Weekly World News yesterday, it dawned on me that the heroine of the book idea I’m working on right now has a deep, dark secret. While she’s a professional web designer by day, she has—a better paying—part time job as a writer for an online tabloid. Perfect for somebody whose town is suddenly crawling with weirdness. *g*

Speaking of weirdness, my satellite is still acting wonky. I thought it was fixed last night because all channels were coming through loud and clear. But my hopes were dashed this morning when I discovered things were back to the rude sort of normal where half the channels were experiencing “signal loss”. *sigh*

At least I can still watch Eureka on cable if need be tonight. The picture just isn’t as good. Well, I guess if that channel isn’t coming through on satellite at all, I guess cable will have the better reception.

Reading: I’m still reading Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. It’s quite a bit different than the movie. They’re both good, but in different ways.

I found out yesterday that my favorite newspaper of all time is no more. Yes, folks, the Weekly World News has shut down its presses and closed the doors. No more stories about Bat Boy, Elvis, and visiting space aliens. Though my all-time favorite story was the woman’s mink coat that came to life and chased her down the hallway of her apartment building.

There was nothing on TV last night. And, surprise surprise, there’s nothing on tonight. I guess that’ll give me time to get caught up some of the recorded shows I’m behind in watching.

I wrote another page last night.

Reading: I decided it was time for something silly so I’m rereading Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.

My life is dull, boring, and other things like that that would be redundant to say. *g* This isn’t, mind you, necessarily a bad thing. But it does make coming up with a blog post harder.

I was a bad, bad girl this morning and ordered some used books. I had to shop for some old computer books for my mom who’s decided to dip her toe into the computing world. So I couldn’t very well buy something for her and not get myself anything, now could I?

Not much going on in the TV world. Repeats, repeats, and, yes, more repeats. And I’m still battling with my satellite service. Very weird. Aha! Just for kicks, I did a Google search on “solar flares” and it appears one of the satellites Dish Network uses was fried by a solar flare a few days ago. About the time I started having problems! Wonder how long it’ll take before the problem is resolved?

Wrote another page last night. :whoo: So maybe the creativity is coming back. :cheer:

Reading: Still reading 1634: The Ram Rebellion which isn’t a novel so much as a collection of short stories set in that particular universe. That’s not a complaint, of course, because I am enjoying them. But I keep wondering what happened to some of the people in the book between this one and the last one I read. Must get myself a copy of that one of these days.
