At least I hope that’s the problem. My satellite service has been thoroughly wonky for a couple of days now. For no apparent reason. It’s driving me insane. Which is a really short trip, believe me. What’s even more bizarre is a friend of mine with a different satellite service has been having the same problems. Which is why I’m tempted to think it’s something other than a hardware problem. Whatever it is, I just wish it would stop! The only positive thing about it is it always seems to improve as the day goes on.

Weird Doctor Who last night. I sort of liked it and sort of didn’t. Fickle me. :D Flash Gordon was fairly good, too. And then there’s my beloved Psych. I do love this show. When Gus slid across that coffee table and slid off the other end, I nearly fell in the floor laughing. *g*

Tonight I’ll be watching an old episode of Mythbusters and a new episode of Feasting on Asphalt. And probably some recorded stuff. :)

I wrote almost a whole page last night!

Reading: 1634: The Ram Rebellion by Eric Flint & Co. It sounds like a history book, doesn’t it? But it’s actually part of a wonderful alternate history series about a group of 20th/21st Century West Virginians whose town is transported to 17th Century Germany smack dab in the middle of the 30 Years War. And the Americans don’t take long to turn Europe on its collective ear. Good stuff!

Our weather people keep swearing backwards, forwards, and upside down that our weather is going to cool off “soon”. They’ve been saying this for over a week now. Personally, I’ll believe it when I see it. ‘Cause it sure ain’t happening yet. Our predicted high today is 100. Again. Enough already! :biteme:

Burn Notice last night was fun. But poor Ayre Gross. He never gets to play anybody nice anymore. *g* Tonight, I’ll be watching Doctor Who, Flash Gordon and Psych.

On the writing front, just before I crashed for the night a paragraph came to me on a semi-newish writing project. So, of course I had to immediately write it down. :typing: (I really need a smiley with a pen!)

Reading: Tall, Dark and Dead by Tate Hallaway. This is a fun book. The hero, Sebastian, is deliciously yummy (yes, I know that’s redundant—sue me  ). If you’re Catholic, however, you might find parts of the book kind of offensive. Just as a warning. :)

There’s another new commercial that cracks me up. It’s for Baskin-Robbins and shows Mom and her kid sitting at the dinner table. As Dad is walking out of the room he says to the kid, “If you don’t finish your peas, we won’t go to Baskin-Robbins for [whatever they’re actually advertising which escapes me now].” The kid doesn’t look too happy about this when suddenly Mom grabs his plate and starts scarfing down his peas.

I don’t normally watch much on the Food Network, but last night I started watching a program called Feasting on Asphalt. It follows food personality Alton Brown as he travels the U.S. on a motorcycle. He and his crew stop at all these little hole-in-the-wall places and eat the kind of food that seems to be disappearing from the American landscape. He’s a very funny host and last night’s episode had me  which I needed very badly. :)

Tonight, it’s First 48 and Burn Notice (which is usually good for a laugh, too).

On the writing front, I finished reading the hard copy of Second Reel. It’s such a mess. *sigh* And at the moment, I haven’t the foggiest how to fix it. So… onward!

Reading: I finished Until It Hurts, then started Tall, Dark and Dead by Tate Hallaway.
