I found out yesterday country music legend Porter Wagoner died on Sunday. He was the first country performer to have his own TV show. It ran from 1960 to 1981. Dolly Parton got her start on his show. They’re making a big deal about him around here because he was from this area.

And I have a feeling Robert Goulet is going to be next. I know he’s in the hospital extremely ill. :(

In the news:

    Archaeologists find major pre-Columbian site

U.S. and Puerto Rican archaeologists say they have found the best-preserved pre-Columbian site in the Caribbean, which could shed light on virtually every aspect of Indian life in the region, from sacred rituals to eating habits.

Cool, huh?

Tonight on TV, I’ll be watching & recording NCIS, Bones, Reaper (what is it with all these shows with one word titles?), and the Dancing with the Stars elimination show.

Here’s last night’s Dancing with the Stars report:

Sabrina Bryan & Mark danced the foxtrot. As always, they were almost perfect. But they had the weirdest music that, in my opinion, wasn’t remotely right for the foxtrot. Score: 25/30
Jennie Garth & Derek did the mambo. They were cute and fun and it was one of Jennie’s best dances. She was finally relaxed in front of the audience and judges and it showed. Score: 27/30
Jane Seymour & Tony did the jive. The jive is not Jane’s style of dance. The elegant dances, she does beautifully. This was good, but not great. Score: 22/30
Cameron Mathison & Edyta did the samba. It wasn’t his best dance, in my opinion, but the judges seemed to like it well enough. Although they did wonder about the costuming because they looked, as Bruno put it, like Pocahontas and Captain John Smith. Score: 25/30
Melanie Brown & Maks did a very sultry, steamy rumba. Wowza! I loved it in spite of myself. Score: 30/30
Marie Osmond & Jonathon did the paso doble. They did a good job, but Marie seemed to be holding back. Probably nerves from last week’s collapse. Score: 23/30
Helio Castroneves & Julianne danced a cute and fun cha cha. Last week, Helio tried to be something he isn’t and got the scores to prove it. This week, my darling race car driver is BACK!!! Score: 28/30

I only wrote one page last night. And a very boring page it was, too.

Reading: Finished up The Warlock Heretical. Not sure what I’m going to start tonight.

  1. I am sunk. I have 3 shows that I really want to watch tonight and only 2 tv’s and recorders! NCIS, BONES and IT’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is on tonight. AT THE SAME TIME! AGH!

I’m sure the writing you’ve done isn’t as boring as you think it is!

    Have a great day!

  2. So who do you think will go tonight, Tori? I still haven’t seen a show yet since it’s on Mondays and I watch NBC.

  3. DH had GAC on last night, an encore of The Grand Ole Opry and Porter Wagoner was on and I said, “Too bad he died, hmmm?” and DH said “WHAT!?!?!?”.

Guess I could have broken it a bit more gently…

I’m going to run to YouTube and check out some of those performances. I’m intrigued.

  4. Thanks for the recap on Dancing With The Stars. Missed it last night.

I love the Charlie Brown Halloween special.

I heard about Robert Goulet and I think you’re right, he’s next.

  5. I hereby dub Tori the Grim Reaper. Scary.

Please… Do not mention me or any of my family or friends and the word death in the same sentance. Ever.
