It’s that time of year again! When I use Christmas song titles for my blog posts. Even if they have nothing to do with anything. *g*
From MSNBC:
Rowling named entertainer of the year
J.K. Rowling’s magical, Midas touch has landed her on the cover of Entertainment Weekly as the magazine’s entertainer of the year.
How cool is that? A WRITER as Entertainer of the Year!
Not much going on here. It’s cold. I don’t like it. The only good thing I have to say about it is that when it gets below freezing it kills off bugs.
Not much on tonight except Torchwood. Oh, and the first episode of the final season of Battlestar Galactica. Not sure if I care what happens to them, though.
Only wrote one page last night, but it was kind of fun. Flirting between Dane & Bree.
Reading: Still reading The Sunrise Lands. Not sure I’m going to finish it, though. I’m discovering it’s not really keeping my attention. So I may skim to the end, just to see what happens and move on to something I know I like. A good juicy murder mystery, perhaps.
There seem to be a lot of fun and/or cool movies out this season.
Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
Enchanted
The Golden Compass
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Not that I’ll see any of these any time soon. But still. Something to look forward to.
Last night’s CSI was extremely silly and I loved every minute of it!
Tonight isn’t as busy as usual, thanks to the usual Thanksgiving Rerun Syndrome. I’ll be watching/recording Ghost Whisperer, Men in Trees, Moonlight, Women’s Murder Club, Numbers, and Blood Ties.
Today’s horoscope:
Your public persona will bring you a good-looking admirer. Soulmate energy is heightened. You are in the midst of a fame cycle. Someone who is well known or will be famous in the future will look to you for security today.
All righty, then. Which of you guys needs some security?
I got in another two pages last night.
Bree made the disgusting discovery that killing creepy creatures is a messy business. *g*
Reading: The Sunrise Lands by S. M. Stirling. He’s a new-to-me author. The book is sort of an alternate history/future book set in our world where something Went Wrong in 1998 that causes electricity, gas pressure and explosives (including gunpowder) to stop working. I’m not even all the way through the first chapter yet, but I like it quite a lot so far.
To all my friends in the U.S., I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a fabulous day.
Things I’m thankful for this year:
Finally being out of the StupidBootBrace(tm).
My family and friends both old and new.
My books.
Satellite television. :D
And many other things I can’t think of off the top of my head.
But I’m especially thankful for the men and women serving our country and keeping us safe.
