I don’t think I’d complain if I got a cowboy for Christmas. I guess it would depend on the cowboy in question, of course. :)

Okay, first of all today, I want to tell you guys about a great new blog that’s being hosted by Suzanne McMinn and Kacey from Kacey’s Wine on the Keyboard. They’ll still each have their own blogs, but their new venture is called DandelionBlog and it’s AWESOME!!! The focus of the site is, to quote, “about maximizing your creative life. Writing. Blogging. Dreaming… And most importantly, actually doing what needs to be done to fully realize your potential. It’s about innovative ways to take your career, and your website, exactly where you want them to go.”

I don’t know about you, but I sorely need this! :)

On a somewhat similar note, what the hell is up with Blogger/Blogspot??? I used to be able to comment using my name and my own blog’s URL. But no more! Now you either have to sign up with them or use a “nickname” that doesn’t let you type in a URL. It totally sucks and I. HATE. IT. Bastards.

And now some pretty spoiler-y words about part one of last night’s Tin Man.

This ain’t your momma’s Wizard of Oz. When I said yesterday that it was darker and edgier, I wasn’t kidding! Dorothy Gale isn’t a girl, now she’s a 20-year-old motorcyle riding waitress named DG (played by Zooey Deschanel—and you can really tell she’s Emily’s, from Bones, sister because they have the same speech patterns). She lives in Kansas with her parents who turn out to be androids from OZ (aka the Outer Zone). The Scarecrow (Alan Cumming) is a former advisor to the queen who’s called Glitch ever since the evil sorceress Azkadellia (who turns out to be DG’s older sister) removed his brain. The Tin Man is actually a policeman named Wyatt Cain. Cops are called Tin Men in OZ. The Cowardly Lion is actually a telepath-type dude named Raw. And the wizard? He’s called the Mystic Man (Richard Dreyfuss) and he’s become addicted to some drug Azkadellia’s created. Azka-D tried to kill DG when they were children, so the queen arranged for DG to be taken to our world for her own safety. It’s absolutely freaky. And I completely love it!!!

So, tonight it’s Chuck, Heroes, and part two of Tin Man. I’ll record Heroes so I can watch Tin Man live. Besides, I may want to rewind stuff on Heroes. :)

It felt really weird not writing last night. I actually did do some reading of notes and older stuff I’ve written, though. Trying to see what I might be in the mood to work on next.

Reading: Down the Garden Path by Dorothy Cannell. But I got a shipment of new books today, so I may dive into those instead tonight. :)

  1. See… I was always an Oz freak as a kid, and have NO desire to see them “ruin” it. Is there some reason they couldn’t just write something entirely new? Bugs me. :fryingpan:

    But that’s just me…

Going to go check out the new blog. Cuz, yanno, I don’t blog hop nearly enough already.

  2. I so wanted to see this and was angry at myself for forgetting to watch it. Maybe they’ll show it again some time.

  3. Vicki! I so agree with you on the blogger commenting change! That S.U.C.K.S. I love to just click on people’s names on comments if they’ve said something clever and hop over to their blog. Hm, not so much anymore. I realize that blogger has its place, a free, easy way to set up a blog, but gosh darn it, let me click over to blogs not on blogger too!

  4. Thank you, Vicki!

And I’m so with you on blogger. It’s even more user-unfriendly than ever. People need Wordpress…. The new “nickname” thing is horrible. Really discourages commenting.

  6. I forgot about The Tin Man. Ah, well. Hopefully they will re-show it at a later date.

I’m with Dru, what books did you get? *G*

I hope you were able to enjoy the 2nd part! Have a nice tuesday!

  7. Tori _ don’t read my blog if you haven’t watched Heroes. There are spoilers there. I did not like the episode.

  8. Ooh, thanks for the reminder about Suzanne and Kacey’s blog. I read about it on Suzanne’s earlier, thought about visiting and then forgot. Hmm, is that old age too?
