So, yesterday’s visit with the orthopedic doctor was yet another good news/bad news event. Good news: the swelling will eventually go away. Bad news: no clue when that will actually happen. Good news: he’s happy with how I’m progressing. Bad news: I have to get “special” shoes. I just hope and pray they’re a lot prettier than they were when I was six. I had to wear corrective shoes back then to correct being pigeon-toed. And they were the UGLIEST damn shoes on the planet.

Re yesterday’s post about Dan Fogelberg, I have to agree with Mandy. My favorite song of his (which I forgot about yesterday) is “Run for the Roses”.

Tonight, we have a new episode of NCIS. What a concept! Also, Life on Mars which is a weird little show on BBC America that I got hooked on last year. And I’m extremely annoyed that I missed the season premiere of it last week. I’ll be recording Best Places to Find Cash & Treasure on the Travel Channel, Decoding Bible Relics on National Geographic, and Christmas movies later.

Reading: I finished up Ring of Fire last night. Tonight I’ll be diving into 1634: The Galileo Affair. Yet another book in the series by Eric Flint.

  1. My fave songs by Dan F. were ones he didn’t release, like “Nexus” and “Only The Heart Will Know”. DD loves, Loves, LOVES “Part of the Plan”.

“Run For the Roses” still chokes me up. I remember the year that was the theme song for the Kentucky Derby, some 25 or so years back.

    He was amazingly talented.

    And :whoo: NCIS!!!

  4. At least the doctor had good news for you, right? And hopefully they made the “special shoes” in better styles now.
Can you believe that NCIS is a new episode? YAY!

Enjoy your shows and books and I hope the swelling in your foot gets better very soon! Have a good night!

  5. I didn’t know NCIS was a new episode. I can’t wait to watch.

That is good news about your progress. I think they make prettier “special” shoes than they did in the past.

Hope the rest of your day was a good one.
