On this date in 1937, Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs opened in Los Angeles. This was the first full-length animated feature film.

On yesterday’s Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek was talking about how well-read this one contestant was. She’d read 785 (somewhere in that vicinity, anyway) books since 1988. Hah! Amateur! I’ve probably read that many in two or three years! And I own almost twice that amount.

Did you guys hear about the Santa in Spokane, Washington who was in riding in the back of a truck (decked out like a sleigh) who was knocked unconscious by some moron throwing a rock? Here’s the full story. Somebody’s gonna get coal in their stocking this year! Or was ticked off because they got some last year.

Then there were the camels being taken for a walk in New York City. That was a hoot. They’re part of the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall and the only place to exercise them is the city streets. They stopped for coffee while they were out. LOL! They’re apparently very fond of lattes. *g*

Tonight on TV there’s not much of anything. White Christmas is on WWOR. New shows Art Attack and The Deal Hunter are on the Travel Channel. A new show on HGTV called Fun Shui might be, um, fun. So I’ll probably also catch up on some recorded shows, too.

Reading: Finished up 1634: The Galileo Affair and started Grantville Gazette II which is another 1632 anthology.

  1. Yes, but WHAT books did she read? War & Peace? LOL… I agree, for the most part. Until six months ago, I ready a book every day or so… :book:

  2. Tori, I saw the same thing and laughed because I read over 500 books in two years. On average, she read 87 books per year, huh, I can read that within 4 months.

    Happy Holidays!

  3. Did you hear that Alex had a mild heart attack? He’s okay though.

    And she is an amateur.

I finally finished with my baking for work tomorrow. Nothing on TV tonight, so I’ll probably read a Christmas anthology I got the other day.

  4. Pshaaaaw! That’s SO not that many books! The anecdote about the camels is hilarious! Can you just imagine what that looks like!

I may just pop in one of the many DVD’s we have. We watched the Christmas episode of Bones from 2006 last night. Have a good evening!

  5. Did you know that after their run of Snow White, I think it was, Radio City Music Hall had to change the seat cushions, because so many kids had wet their pants over the scary parts?

  6. I went to the video store tonight and checked out The Bishops Wife. The old one with Cary Grant. I haven’t seen it in ages.

You guys would put that lady to shame on the number of books she’s read. Maybe you should try out for Jeapordy?
