I hope everyone is having a lovely, lovely holiday today! It’s been a good one here. I got some Love Inspired Suspense books, two DVD sets (the full set of Keen Eddie and the second season of Remington Steele), a new sleep shirt with ice skating penguins on it  and some sleep pants with Tweety Bird (which was a nickname I had at one place I worked) and a pink sleep tee to go with it, a purple wallet (cool!) and three tins of these rolled wafer cookeis in chocolate and vanilla. Yum!

We have a tidbit of movie history today, too.

In 1938, after auditioning hundreds for the role, producer David O. Selznick chose British actress Vivien Leigh to play Scarlett O’Hara in “Gone With The Wind.”

This is also a busy day for celebrity birthdays.

    Actor Humphrey Bogart
    Jazz bandleader Cab Calloway
TV writer (and host of The Twilight Zone) Rod Serling
    Singer Jimmy Buffett
    Singer Barbara Mandrell
Actor Gary Sandy (he’s most famous for his role in WKRP in Cincinnati)
    Actress Sissy Spacek
    Singer Annie Lennox

Being Christmas Day, of course, there isn’t a lot on tonight. However, I’ll be watching the two-hour Deal or No Deal Christmas special.

Reading: I finished up How to Murder the Man of Your Dreams, then read my annual Christmas read, 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith. This was the original book that the movie is based on. Only it’s way better than the movie. Being less than 200 pages, however, it didn’t take me long to read it. So after I finished, I started The Spring Cleaning Murders by Dorothy Cannell.

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

I’ve already gotten some gifts. Money which is always useful and an iTunes gift card from my aunt & uncle. Yay!!! Now I can finally buy some of the songs sitting in my iTunes shopping cart. :)

Watched a mildly entertaining Disney movie I’d never heard of last night. It was called Summer Magic and was based on a book by Kate Douglas Wiggin who also wrote Rebecca of Sunnybrooke Farm. It starred Hayley Mills, Burl Ives, and Dorothy Maguire. I found the book it was based on one of the public domain book sites (it was written in 1910) and I’m hoping it has a better ending than the movie. The movie version sort of fizzled out and left me wanting to rewrite it. *g*

Tonight it’s Christmas movies! Probably ones I’ve already recorded since most of the ones playing during prime time are ones I’ve already seen. :)

Reading: I’m not quite finished with How to Murder the Man of Your Dreams, but should tonight.

I have absolutely nothing to say. Not that that’s ever stopped me before. *g* Just call me the Jerry Seinfeld of the Blogosphere.

Oh, but here’s a tidbit of history for today:

In 1928, the National Broadcasting Company (now known as NBC) established a permanent coast-to-coast radio hookup.

I may have to be a bit scarce around and about. I’m having a lot of trouble lately with my hands going numb. I think it’s mainly because I need a new desk chair. Mine’s on its last legs, so to speak. It doesn’t sit quite level and we can’t fix it because some bolt or something is broken or too short. Or something.

On the TV front, I’ve come to the conclusion if I had a dollar for every time The Polar Express was on this year, I could buy a BUNCH of books. Tonight, it’s Christmas in Connecticut. The original with Barbara Stanwyck. It’s one of my favorites. :) Also, if you want to catch Hogfather, it’s on again tonight on ION.

Reading: How to Murder the Man of Your Dreams by Dorothy Cannell. This one pokes gentle fun at male romance novel cover models. *g*
