*grumble* CBS advertised a new episode of NCIS for last night. The TV listings said it was it was a new episode. So what did they air? The first flippin’ episode of the season. Bastards.
I don’t know what’s up with them. Tonight, I thought we were supposed to have a new Criminal Minds, but the TV listings say they’re showing Christmas speicals. CBS’s website says it’s a repeat CI. But they do both agree we get a new CSI: New York. So that’s something.
And, it’s Weird News Wednesday!
Christmas Card Arrives 93 Years Late
A postcard featuring a color drawing of Santa Claus and a young girl was mailed in 1914, but its journey was slower than Christmas. It just arrived in northwest Kansas.
And I thought our mail service was bad!
Reading: I’m about 1/3 of the way through 1634: The Galileo Affair. I’m starting to wish I’d re-read 1633 beforehand because I’m having trouble keeping track of who’s who. The series has a cast of thousands.
I may have to create my own scorecard!
So, yesterday’s visit with the orthopedic doctor was yet another good news/bad news event. Good news: the swelling will eventually go away. Bad news: no clue when that will actually happen. Good news: he’s happy with how I’m progressing. Bad news: I have to get “special” shoes. I just hope and pray they’re a lot prettier than they were when I was six. I had to wear corrective shoes back then to correct being pigeon-toed. And they were the UGLIEST damn shoes on the planet.
Re yesterday’s post about Dan Fogelberg, I have to agree with Mandy. My favorite song of his (which I forgot about yesterday) is “Run for the Roses”.
Tonight, we have a new episode of NCIS. What a concept! Also, Life on Mars which is a weird little show on BBC America that I got hooked on last year. And I’m extremely annoyed that I missed the season premiere of it last week. I’ll be recording Best Places to Find Cash & Treasure on the Travel Channel, Decoding Bible Relics on National Geographic, and Christmas movies later.
Reading: I finished up Ring of Fire last night. Tonight I’ll be diving into 1634: The Galileo Affair. Yet another book in the series by Eric Flint.
Singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg died yesterday from prostate cancer. He was only 56. He had such songs as “Same Old Lang Syne” and “Leader of the Band”.
The only thing on tonight that’s new (of the shows I watch) is CSI: Miami. So I’ll be watching recorded stuff beforehand. I refuse to watch the new reality shows that are coming on.
I’ve got an appointment this afternoon to see the orthopedic doctor, so I’ll be gone most of the afternoon. I hope he’s happy with how I’m improving….
Reading: Still reading the Ring of Fire anthology. It’s looooong. *g*
