For more information on the inspirations for the movie "Cars," check out the Route 66 News and go directly here:
http://rwarn17588.wordpress.com/2006/06/13/pixars-route-66-inspirations/

Also, FYI, though some think that "most of Route 66 is now gone" it has been determined that nearly 90% of the old highway is traversible in an every day automobile, so I think that the facts in this case prove the myth wrong.

For me, personally, living in Southern California, 99% of the highway in my home county is still driveable, and all but a few hundred feet of it are still there from its western terminus near the Pacific Ocean to San Bernardino, nearly 100 miles away. Quite a lot of exploring for me to do!

Enjoy the road. Happy Travels!

I'm afraid there aren't a huge number of extras on the DVD. You might want to wait for the 2 disc version to come out.

It is a great movie!

My kids loved the movie Cars! I thought it was great that it brought attention to a an old piece of history like that! Enjoy your research!
Have a good evening and enjoy not only your writing, but your book as well.

Now you've peaked my interest so I'll be off to research route 66. It's ashame that history is being lost.

Marianne, that happened to me recently where I lost a couple of shows. When I checked, it was being deleted after 14 days.

I've been reading Suzanne's blog as well.

Melissa, I keep wondering if the Wheel Well was based on an actual place. Must do research!

Marianne, that sucks! Is it supposed to do that???

I'm so MAD... my dvr deleted "Snowglobe" and "Christmas in Paradise" before I could watch them... I sat down today to watch one and they were GONE. :-(

And I LOVE the Dandelion Blog. Now, if I could just find the time to incorporate some of the stuff they're talking about!

Have a peachy keen day! :headspin:

We love Cars! I wasn't sure what to think when I first heard about it, but it's a great movie. It was fun to see the lore of Hwy 66 captured that way.
