I’ve been on a Big Band music kick lately. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because I’m working on the 1920s murder mystery, though that was a little bit before the Big Band era which didn’t really get going until the ’30s. Oddly enough, I loved Big Band music even when I was a kid. I was a strange child.
I’d listen to my Partridge Family albums, Donny Osmond, Bobby Sherman (does anyone else remember him?), and my parents’ Best of the Big Bands albums. Good times.
The other day I talked about my love of old games shows. Well, a few days ago the original Family Feud had me cracking up. This chick was playing for the big money at the end of the show. The question: Name a cuddly breed of dog (or something like that). Her response: A kitten.
I laughed so hard I almost couldn’t breathe.
There’s a new Jane Doe mystery tonight on Hallmark Channel. They’re fun.
I got in another page last night on the murder mystery. But now it’s the weekend, so I’ve got two days off. Unless, of course, my characters really start tugging at my shirt tail, begging for attention.
Reading: I’m not quite finished with Mrs. Jeffries Appeals the Verdict. Should finish that up tonight.
A kitten?
OMG!
That is why I am SO never going on one of those game shows. I’d crack under the pressure.
Or give the censors a workout.
Grins*

I had a crush on Bobby Sherman and when he was singing, he was singing to me.
I didn’t know you watch Jane Doe..they’re having a marathon until the premiere of her new show.
Who’s your favorite big band player? I like Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington to name a few.
Yay on the pages written.
Have a good weekend.

Crystal, same here! I’m sure I’d crack under the pressure. It’s much easier to play in one’s own home.
Dru, I’m not sure who my favorite Big Band is. There are so many to choose from! I’m somewhat partial to Gene Krupa, but that may be because I have a thing for drummers.

Oh, Tori. A kitten. That’s classic! I loved that show when I was a kid.
Keep up the pages. You’re doing great.

LOL… Family Feud was always funny, and one person is always the ditz.
I love big band. Does that make ME weird, too?
And, you take weekends off from writing? Wow.

Melissa, she was REALLY embarrassed afterwards. *g*
Marianne, I don’t think there’s anything weird about liking Big Band music when you’re an adult, but I liked it when I was a pre-teen. *g*
I’m taking weekends off this time around. I got burned out big time when I did 100 days straight.

I love Big Band music. It’s great! Benny Goodman is my favorite, his music seemed to “Live!”.
I remember watching a bit of the old Family Fueds, have you ever watched some of the old newlywed games? OMGosh, the men are CLUELESS! *g*
Have a good sunday, sorry for “dropping by” so late!

I SO remember Bobby Sherman. Yay Shindig!
I grew up dancing to the Big Bands. Not that I’m that old, you understand, but my folks were terrific dancers, and you didn’t live in my house without dancing. The number I remember most - Glenn Miller’s American Patrol (I think it was GM).

Margery - yes, that was Glenn Miller - my all-time favorite big band. I was raised by WWII parents, so big band was something I knew as a pre-teen.
The very first album that I ever owned was Bobby Sherman. I loved “Here Comes the Brides”.
