Another of my guilty pleasures is watching the Barrett-Jackson classic car auctions on Speed. Even though I can’t drive anymore (blame the eyes and their loss of depth perception), I still have a major thing for collectible cars. Last night they had a 1934 Chevy that was so totally sweet. I wanted it bad. And I’d love to know how all these people can afford to buy these cars! Some of these things sell for well in the upper six figures or more! Who are these people? And how can I be as rich as they are?

I heard this morning that former chess champion Bobby Fischer died. He was only 64.

And in the weird news department:

Fossil remains of 2,000-pound rodent found
Scientists in Uruguay find the fossil remains of a 2,000-pound rodent that lived 2 million to 4 million years ago - the largest rodent ever found.

Man, you’d need a big honkin’ trap to catch that rat! LOL!

I want to redesign my blog but I’m not sure what I want. I’d like to keep my banner, though. I worked hard creating it. :)

Busy TV night. We have new episodes (supposedly  ) of Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, Numbers, and Las Vegas. And I know we’re getting new episodes of Psych and Stargate: Atlantis.

Wrote another page last night. I think I’m finally ready to go back through the manuscript and figure out what needs to be fixed and/or added.

Reading: She Shall Have Murder by Delano Ames. This is the first book in a fun series that stars Jane & Dagobert Brown. The series was written in the late 1940s and 1950s. I only have four books from the series and, unfortunately, the prices for the ones I don’t have are astronomically high.

  1. I said to my DH this morning, “Oh. Bobby Fisher died.” He said, “Who?”

    ((shakes head))

And, yeah, the price of older books is ridiculous.

  2. Bobby Fisher died? Wow, that’s a time-warp.

I’m really looking forward to tonight’s CBS shows - I hope they are new ones.

  3. I’m about to be boo’ed I believe, but I honestly thought the weird news would have been that Bobby Fisher died. That man was, um, troubled. (To use a polite term.)
But, yeah, I can see where a 2,000 pound RAT would be weirder! Jeez, could you imagine the whiskers on the nasty thing!

Enjoy your books, I too hate how older books are so expensive. Have a good evening!

  5. Tori, did you watch Moonlight? If so, can you send me a recap? I don’t think my DVR was set up to tape this show.

I heard about Bobby Fischer passing. He was a great chess player.
