I don’t, as a usual rule, rant about political stuff here. But this is something that’s really bugging me right now. The proposed economic stimulus package. It’s a great idea, in theory. Except for the fact people on disability (like me) and Social Security (like millions of seniors) get NOTHING under this plan. And that pisses me off so much I can hardly see straight. I’ve already written my representative and senators about this issue. Not to mention our local news. If you know someone on disability or Social Security, I urge you to do the same.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program…

Lions Gate & Marvel Studios have cut tentative deals with the Writers Guild. Our local news had me laughing like a loon last night  because they acted like that means the strike is almost over. I hate to tell them having four or five out of hundreds of studios cut deals hardly means the strike will be over any time soon!

Tonight is the return of Torchwood! :whoo: Yippee!!! And it’s got James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), too! Also on tonight is the U. S. Figure Skating championships which I may watch. I used to love watching figure skating.

I read through about 40 pages last night on the mystery and made more notes. There’s a fair amount that needs fixing in this segment. Then again, there’s a fair amount that I think’s pretty good, too. :)

Reading: Clouds of Witness by Dorothy L. Sayers. I’d started to read Unnatural Death last night, but then I realized I had my books out of order. I can’t do that! I have to read them in order. It’s a rule. :) In this one, Lord Peter’s brother, the Duke of Denver, is accused of murder!

  1. Nope, can’t read books out of order either. And its a pain when you are starting a series from years back to try and keep it straight, i.e. The Dresden Files. I’m having that problem with the “Nightside” series by Simon R. Green.

  2. I try to read books in order as well, but sometimes authors are good about writing books in a series that will stand alone. SOMETIMES. And the economic package? Well, the way they have it set up Chris will get money and the kids will, but since I don’t pull in a paycheck……. And yes, the Out-laws are both on SS, so they will be affected as will my Grandmother. I don’t think they’ve thought this through. Eh, what do I know, right?

Glad that you like some of your writing and also glad that you are objective enough to know that some needs work. *g*

Have a great day! I hope you enjoy it!

  5. I like the look of your new “home”. BTW, did you figure out how to re-organize your room?

When I first discover a book that is part of the series, I read that book then go back and read all the other books in order.

  8. I like the new look of the blog!

Yeah, the “stimulus” package is a joke. On top of it being unfair, one teensy payment isn’t going to help. Don’t let the predators feed on the consumer, and then you’ll actually make progress. But Bush’s friends are all predators, so he’ll never stop them, and then he’ll pardon them all before he leaves office.

    Typical.

But it’s one of the reasons that the turnout for the primaries is so high.
