Well, I was destined NOT to see any of the programs I had planned to watch last night. I got to see the first hour of the skating, but I recorded the second half and switched over to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. But I’d hardly begun watching that before the signal began getting severely pixelated. It eventually went away altogether. I was not well-pleased. I should have just switched back to the skating then, but I waited until it finished recording. Bad mistake. Something wonky happened with the tape and I missed seeing Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir’s performances in the long program. :hissyfit:

The State of the Union address is on tonight which I have no desire whatsoever to see, so I’ll either be catching up on recorded shows, or watching the season premiere of Cities of the Underworld and Ancient Discoveries on the History Channel.

Time to get back to reading the 1920s murder mystery tonight.

Reading: Still reading Unnatural Death by Dorothy L. Sayers. I love her books, but I have one complaint about them. They sometimes have long segments in French. Which would be fine if I could remember any of the French I took in high school, but I don’t and I doubt I had enough to translate what I come across anyway. I need to buy an English/French dictionary one of these days…

  1. Sorry to hear your tv viewing went wonky. Like you, I have no desire to watch the State of the Union Address. I try, really I do, but after a while all I hear is Blah-blah-blah and with the kids running around it looks much better on mute with me making up the words. *g*

Long passages in French, eh? I don’t think you should be bi-lingual to read a book!

    Have a GREAT DAY!

  2. I had no idea that last night’s Extreme Home Makeover was the one from here — only a little ways south of where I live. In fact, the builder who built MY house is the builder who they used for that build.

I would have watched it. Darn it. Guess I’ll wait for the repeat.

Sorry you had such TV drama. :???:

  4. Sorry about your TV woes. Doesn’t it seems that stuff happens to your TV when you most want to watch it?
