I was watching an episode of the old (1960s version) of Ive Got a Secret (I have to type it without the apostrophe because that screws up Amazon for some weird reason) yesterday. One of the contestants was writer John Creasey. He was undoubtedly one of the most prolific mystery/crime writers of all time, publishing in excess of 600 (yes, 600) books during his career. But the thing is, he recieved 743 rejections before he ever sold his first book. Somehow, I find that rather inspiring.
Things have been shaking in the Reno, Nevada area. After a two month period of minor earthquakes, they had a somewhat larger one yesterday at 4.7 on the Richter Scale. And scientists are saying a 6.0 isn’t out of the question. Yikes!
Last night while channel hopping during commercials, I came across this bracelet for sale on one of the shopping channels. Sometimes they have pretty jewelry. But this? It looked like a roll of masking tape!!! Bet you could get it a lot cheaper at Lowe’s or Home Depot. LOL!
Hey, pop over to Killer Fiction. It’s a fun blog of six romantic mystery writers. And right now, Gemma Halliday is giving away an ARC of her latest, These Boots Were Made for Strutting. Go check out their blog!
There’s nothing on tonight that I know of, so I’ll be catching up on recorded shows. Hart to Hart, I think, for one thing.
Hang on to your hats! I wrote a whole new page on the fantasy last night! Then my hand got to where I couldn’t easily hold a pen, so I quit, but I was quite pleased that I’d managed a full page.
Speaking of my hand, though, it is marginally better than it was.
I love chicken & dumplings. My mom makes them, but I have to admit hers aren’t my favorite. She uses shortcuts like tortillas to make the dumplings. They’re okay, but nothing to write home about. However, one of our neighbors knows how much I love chicken & dumplings and she made me a big ol’ batch yesterday. From scratch. YUM!!! I had them for lunch yesterday, for supper last night, and lunch again today. *g*
What’s your comfort food?
I’d have posted sooner today, but I slept late and then dragged myself to the library because I was out of new books to read.
Re last night’s shows, Survivor continued its seasonal theme of backstabbing & blindsiding. And on Lost, as much as it pains me to admit this, I’m almost starting to like Ben.
