Yesterday’s Kentucky Derby was a great race! Big Brown ran a perfect race. Despite all the naysayers who said he’d never win from the #20 post position, he proved them wrong. Hah! He was still fresh as a daisy after he crossed the finish line and could have kept running which bodes well for the Belmont Stakes which is a longer race. The second place horse was the only filly in the race, Eight Belles. She looked to me like she was running great, but shortly after crossing the finish line, she collapsed. She had broken both her front ankles and had to euthanized. 
So sad.
I watched the new Speed Racer show that I recorded the other night. Speed’s not dead, he’s missing. No mention of Trixie, so no clue what’s up with that. Maybe it’ll be explained later on. And I can’t believe I’m actually contemplating watching this on a regular basis. 
Tonight, we have Cold Case (which comes on an hour earlier), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and the season finale (already?! 
) of Wire in the Blood.
No writing last night. It was my day off. 
Reading: I finished up Bones to Ashes which was the last of my library books, so I don’t know what I’m going to read tonight. Hope I can get back to the library tomorrow.
Cold Case is also a season finale, which is way too early for me.
It was so sad about Eight Belles.

My heart just broke for Eight Belles… so, so sad. The only “good” thing was where it happened and the fact that most of the cameras weren’t watching her, so we don’t have to watch it over and over and over…
