It’s Memorial Day. A time to remember the brave men and women who work hard every day to keep us safe and those that have given their lives doing the same. So let’s raise a glass  to them and say, “thank you.”

******

Those of you who don’t know or remember Rosanne Rosannadanna must be way too young! She was a character created by the late and brilliant Gilda Radner on Saturday Night Live. She was part of the original cast. They were oh-so-cutting-edge back then, but I’m sure by today’s standards they’d be considered fairly tame. However, my personal favorite of the 1970s/80s sketch shows was SCTV. LOVED that show!!! I found it screamingly funny.

Not much on tonight. Such a shock, I know. There is a remake of The Andromeda Strain on A&E tonight and tomorrow night. I wouldn’t ordinarily bother with it, but Eric McCormack is in it. I’ll record it during its later airing, though, so I can do some more recorded show watching.

Last night I finally saw the season finale of Bones. :confused68: Wow. To quote Cam, I did not see that coming. In fact, it didn’t really work for me. I wonder how much the writers’ strike is to blame? Maybe if they’d had more time to set it up it would have been more believable.

Reading: Now I’m reading a new-to-me author, K. K. Beck‘s 1920s-set mystery Peril Under the Palms. I thought it was a tad slow to start, but it soon livened up and I’m really enjoying it now.

  2. You’re making me want to head to YouTube and watch a little SNL (never was an SCTV fan, sorry… but at least I know of what you speak!). I loved all the different ways Chevy Chase would fall before he’d say… “Live from New York…”

Ahh… the good old days. :D

Hope you’re having a stellar day.

  3. Does it help that I remember seeing clips of the old SNL? (And I’m not a huge fan of the latest era of SNL.)
I hear the new Andromeda movie also has Benjamin Bratt. (? I think that’s his name.)

    Enjoy your books!

  4. aaaww, SNL just brings back fun memories. I had the opportunity to attend one of the original cast show and by the time you left, you were peeing in your pants with all the antics the cast did during the breaks.

Tori, I think the strike messed up the whole storyline that we never got to see the progression of what happened with Zack.

  5. Roseanne Roseannadanna….tee-hee.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing about the BONES ending and the strike. I must say, I was a bit cheesed off by it, too. It came from NOWHERE. And that always annoys me.
