Have you heard the news story about the two college girls who claim they were tossed off a plane for being “too pretty”? Hello? :waving2: Conceited much? They weren’t that pretty, anyway, IMO. Though now they’re backtracking on that claim. Good plan, girls. *g*

Devon correctly pointed out yesterday that we’ve had our three deaths. I’d forgotten the teenager from Harry Potter who’d gotten stabbed.

The Sci Fi Channel is having a Ghost Hunters marathon today, so guess what I’ll be watching tonight? :) We also have a new episode of Men In Trees, but since the show’s been cancelled (y’know, TV execs, the show might have done better if you hadn’t kept screwing with its schedule!) I’m not much in the mood to bother with it.

Oh! Just remembered this. My dad & I came up with a new version of Fox’s Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. We think all the people in Congress should have to participate. If they lose, they’re out of a job. *g*

And have you heard about the guy in Orlando, Florida who’s selling what he claims are ghosts in bottles? There’s a warning on the bottle to “open at your own risk”. Why do I suddenly have this urge to sing the theme from Ghostbusters. Who ya gonna call, indeed? LOL! Me, I’d call the team from Ghost Hunters.

Reading: I’m reading the second Maggie Maguire book, A Record of Death by Kate Bryan. This one’s got an Agatha Christie Ten Little Indians (or And Then There Were None depending on which version you’ve read) thing going on as Maggie, her cousin Grady, and bunch of other people are trapped on an island with a killer from all their pasts.

There’s been another death in Hollywood. Academy Award-winning director Sydney Pollack died yesterday from cancer. He directed such vastly different movies as Out of Africa and Tootsie. He was 73.

So. That’s two. Who will be the third?

Another night of nothing to watch on TV. But that’s okay. I have plenty more Young Indiana Jones movies to watch. Not to mention a plethora of other movies.

Hey, Memorial Day is over so we can wear white shoes now! :whoo: Not that I ever paid all that much attention to the rules anyway. I always thought it was a stupid rule. I mean, it wasn’t even consistent. You could wear white tennis shoes or boots but not pumps or sandals. Hello? :waving2: Crazy!

Reading: Right now I’m reading Murder at Bent Elbow by Kate Bryan. This is the first book in the Maggie Maguire mystery series which is set in the 1880s Wild West. It’s a fun series. I’ve had the first two books for a long time but I only recently was able to get the third book (it was really hard to find a copy). So I decided to read :book: the whole series in one fell swoop.

It’s Memorial Day. A time to remember the brave men and women who work hard every day to keep us safe and those that have given their lives doing the same. So let’s raise a glass  to them and say, “thank you.”

Those of you who don’t know or remember Rosanne Rosannadanna must be way too young! She was a character created by the late and brilliant Gilda Radner on Saturday Night Live. She was part of the original cast. They were oh-so-cutting-edge back then, but I’m sure by today’s standards they’d be considered fairly tame. However, my personal favorite of the 1970s/80s sketch shows was SCTV. LOVED that show!!! I found it screamingly funny.

Not much on tonight. Such a shock, I know. There is a remake of The Andromeda Strain on A&E tonight and tomorrow night. I wouldn’t ordinarily bother with it, but Eric McCormack is in it. I’ll record it during its later airing, though, so I can do some more recorded show watching.

Last night I finally saw the season finale of Bones. :confused68: Wow. To quote Cam, I did not see that coming. In fact, it didn’t really work for me. I wonder how much the writers’ strike is to blame? Maybe if they’d had more time to set it up it would have been more believable.

Reading: Now I’m reading a new-to-me author, K. K. Beck‘s 1920s-set mystery Peril Under the Palms. I thought it was a tad slow to start, but it soon livened up and I’m really enjoying it now.
