Last night’s Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics were spectacular and sometimes offered true sniffly moments, but (you knew there would be a “but”, didn’t you? ) I marveled in disbelief at the stadium China built. Could they have made that thing any uglier? Needless to say, I’m not a fan of modern, avant-garde architecture.

And what was up with the women’s outfits on Team Hungary? They had white dresses with huge splashes of red. Looked like they all got some serious blood spatter on them! I wonder what it says about me that I saw them that way? *g* And why do people persist in thinking red & yellow are an attractive color combination? More than one country did this. It makes me want a hot dog or hamburger…. :hungry:

My remote control is going to get a workout today as I cycle through all the channels covering the games. Also on tonight is a new series on BBC America entitled Primeval that looks very interesting. The gist of it, as I understand it, is a rift in time/space allows dinosaurs to escape from their time into modern London. Much chaos ensues! And there’s horse racing on this afternoon. Busy, busy, busy!

Rather shocking news out of Hollywood this morning. Comedian Bernie Mac died early this morning in Chicago from complications of pneumonia. He was only 50.

Worked some more on my notes for the contemporary fantasy last night. I’m rather unhappy that it wants to be a mystery, but it can’t be all mystery. It’s too weird.

Reading: I’m still reading The Grand Tour by Patricia Wrede and Caroline Stevermer. There’s much chaos in this, too, but it’s much more refined. *g*

  1. I was surprised at the death of Bernie Mac especially since they said he was going to be released from the hospital soon.

Oh man, I said the same thing when I saw the outfit from Hungary. Some of the outfits were nice but some I wondered who their designer were.

The stadium sounds horrid! THAT I may have to look at. *G*

I was so sad to hear of Bernie Mac’s passing. How sad that such a bright flame of comedy is lost.

For your writing, have fun with it. *g* (No, you can’t hit me. *G*)

I hope you have a relaxing Sunday!
