I spent the better part of yesterday wrangling with my Internet service. Which I still don’t have except for the neighbor’s. My ISP tried to blame my computer and told me to call Apple. I was 99% sure he didn’t know what he was talking about, but I called Apple anyway. The guy there assured me I was right and the ISP was wrong. Hah!
But there were some other things I wanted to double-check before I yell at the ISP. So far, I’m of the opinion that the modem, the router, and my Airport express (an Apple wireless doohickey) may all three have problems. But I’m going to yell at the ISP anyway for wasting my time telling me it was my computer. Idiots.
So. One of the best things about the Olympics was all the cute guys! Just to name a few:
- Ryan Lochte (U.S. swimmer)
- Zac Purchase (British rower)
- Mark Hunter (British rower)
- Oussama Mellouli (Tunisian swimmer)
- the entire German men’s field hockey team (the other teams may be hot, too, but this was the only one I got a good look at
- Andreas Thorkildsen (Norwegian javelin thrower)
- Tero Pitkamaki (Finnish javelin thrower)
I cracked up last night during ABC’s World News because Charlie Gibson, bless his heart, really had a “duh”
moment. He was talking about the hurricanes and he said, “Tropical Storm Gustav, the first named storm since Hurricane Fay…” Funny how that happens when you go in alphabetical order.
Have I mentioned lately how much I love The Middleman? Last week’s had a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference. Last night had an obscure Doctor Who reference. A very sneaky reference which I would not have gotten had I not read some of the 1980s novelizations of the earlier Doctors. Such fun!
Tonight, we have a new episode of Eureka. I’m curious to see the fallout of last week’s episode. And I’ll also be catching up on shows.
Got some minor work done on the contemporary fantasy. Not as much as I would have liked, but I’m finding I’m having a hard time getting back into the groove. Part of the problem, I think is I got so used to writing in longhand that I can’t write using the computer. Ack! But writing longhand now doesn’t work very well because the lighting is all wrong where my loveseat is now. Oh well, I’ll just have to retrain myself.
Reading: Finished up Spying in High Heels and moved on to Beyond His Control by Stephanie Tyler. This is one of her Navy SEAL books. Yum!
i agree with you on the tunisian swimmer; he was indeed a cutie.
good luck with your computer/isp woes.

I’m guessing I’ll never be too old to think some of these athletes are hotties!!

I will have to google some of these names. I do know Lochte is a total hottie, but aren’t sure what the rest look like.

You’ve made me curious as to the athletes you’ve metioned. *G* We have an apple wireless router as well. Every now and then we just have to unplug everything and start over. Especially since I run a Dell, Chris has his MacBookPro and our DSL modem is AT&T. (AT&T are awful about their modem going down, for no reason.)
Good luck and give’m heck! *G*
Other than computer issues, I hope you have a nice day!
