I could have done this as a “dateline” report, but since I don’t really have anything to say this morning, I thought I’d put this here.
On this date in 1903, the first cross-country trip in an automobile was completed. Someone drove a Packard from San Francisco to New York in 52 days. I’d love to know what route they took since there wasn’t a transcontinental highway until 1913!
Still watching the ’80s music videos. Earlier, a solo video by Freddie Mercury of Queen was on. He had such an amazing voice and died way too soon.
My thoughts and prayers go out to those in Gustav’s path. Stay safe, people.
Not a lot going on here. My new modem didn’t arrive on Friday, so I’m still having to borrow the neighbor’s wifi. But I have a new router that a kindly writer friend sent me. It looks a lot better than the one I had before.
Tonight on TV, we have another episode of Inspector Lynley Mysteries, but I’m not sure if it’s a new episode or a repeat. It’s coming up as a repeat, but I’m not sure if that’s right.
Reading: Finished up Secret of the Mansion but my copy of the next book in the series is also kind of beat-up. So now I’m reading Linda Craig and the Palomino Mystery by Ann Sheldon. Not that Ann Sheldon was a real person. The series was ghost written by at least one of the daughters, and possibly both, of Edward Stratemeyer. Which is an essay for another day because I could talk at great length about the Stratemeyer Syndicate.

I’m kinda curious about the cross-country trip as well! I’ve made a trip simialar to that and it wasn’t pleasant even then. *G*
Now, you’ve REALLY got me curious over the “Stratemeyer Syndicate”. Spill. Please?
Good news on the new router. I hope it works well for you. Sorry to hear the new modem hasn’t arrived yet. Maybe tuesday? I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Have a wonderful evening!

We’ve done the SF to TN roadtrip when i was a kid. Oh and DC to LA when I was only a year old. I don’t know if I could last that long in a car again!

I would LOVE to do a full cross country trip. Take a couple of months and just poke around where ever the road called to me. That would be so much fun!
