Woke up this morning to thunder and rain. Lots of rain. :drowning: And only over our little county. Weird. And now the sun is shining.

On this date in 1921, after the Fatty Arbuckle sex scandal, Universal Studios began requiring its actors to sign a “morality clause” in their contracts. Too bad they can’t get away with that these days. *g*

Not a lot on tonight except a new Masterpiece Mystery series. This time around it’s the Victorian-era Sally Lockhart, played by Doctor Who’s Billie Piper. The series, by the way, is based on a series of books by Philip Pullman.

Reading: I’m still reading (and loving) Talk Nerdy To Me. I am definitely going to snag the rest of the books in this series!

  1. You are welcome to send that rain our way!
Sometimes I think society has forgotten what morality is, anyway. It’s making it harder to teach kids about morals and values. *sigh*

I have no idea what we’re watching on tv tonight. *g* The Emmy’s are on, but aren’t as fun to watch as the Tony’s. *g*

Glad to hear you’re enjoying your book, I wonder if my library has that………*G*

    I hope you’re having a relaxing day!

  2. I’m normally hyped for the Emmy’s but not this year. I will watch to see if Kyra (is she nominated?) can grab the Emmy.

Tori, I checked out the synopsis for Talk Nerdy for Me, that I’ve put it on my TBR list.

  4. I love the “Nerd” books… so cute!

Yeah… morality and Hollywood… an oxy-moron if I’ve ever heard one.

  6. Wow, I sure wish they had that clause today. Seems like only a few stars, at least the young ones like the Jonas Brothers take stuff like that seriously.

I’m just waiting for one to crash and burn like those before her. Initials MS. Rumors are swirling that she’s a train wreck waiting to happen and now it’s coming out that she wants out of her Disney show because she can make more money singing. Her father agrees. I think she forgets her young fans who put her where she is like seeing her on TV. Same thing happened with Hillary Duff. You’d think they’d learn, but they don’t.

  7. There was supposed to be a new book on the Arbuckle trial but I don’t know if the author - Joan Something - ever finished it…? I hope so, because I really really want to read it! Do you know anything about this?
