It’s official. If I shopped at Macy’s, I’d have to kill Jessica Simpson. Or at least pop her a good one.
In the ad I saw yesterday, she attacked a poor shopper and spritzed her, unasked, with perfume. Anybody does that me and they’ll get yelled at, at the very least. 99% of all perfumes send me into paroxysms of coughing.
Today’s post is long. So consider yourself warned.
And now, ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls, it’s time for the return of Tori’s Dancing with the Stars report!
- Cody Linley & Julianne Hough - They’re both the youngest dancers on the show. In fact, Judge Carrie Ann said their combined ages didn’t equal her age! Their first dance was the cha cha. It was pretty darn good for the first dance out of the gate! They scored 18/30.
- Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff - Their first dance was the foxtrot. A valiant effort (especially since Karina injured her ankle during practice yesterday). And, gosh, he’s got the cutest smile!!! I never realized that before. They scored 14/30.
- Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo - Their first dance was the cha cha. Wow! Smokin’!!! They scored 22/30.
- Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke - Their first dance was the foxtrot. Wasn’t really my idea of a foxtrot. They scored 18/30.
- Brooke Burke (no relation to Cheryl as far as I know *g*) & Derek Hough - Their first dance was the cha cha. Great job but what was the deal with having her in pants? Weird. They scored 23/30.
- Ted McGinley & Inna Brayer - Their first dance was the foxtrot. I thought they did a great job. And Ted looks hot in a tux. *swoon* They scored 18/30.
- Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer - Their first dance was the cha cha. I never realized Jumpin’ Jack Flash was a cha cha. LOL! But it worked! Well, not for Mr. Len Crankypants, but we know what he’s like. *g* And Lacey, the pro dancer, was not uber-skinny like the other pro women. She looked healthy! What a concept. They scored 22/30.
- Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas (Mark Ballas’ dad) - Their first dance was the foxtrot. Cloris is the oldest dancer on the show ever, at age 82! They weren’t the best, but by golly, I give the woman props because I sure couldn’t do what she did.
- Jeffrey Ross & Edyta Sliwinska - Their first dance was the cha cha. He got injured yesterday, too, and ended up with a scratched cornea. But he danced despite being advised not to. Bless his heart, he just cannot dance. They scored 12/30.
- Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas - Their first dance was the foxtrot. It was really good! Especially considering she has as much trouble with balance as I do.
(I’ve been known to trip over stripes in parking lots. *g*) They scored 19/30.- Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani - Their first dance was the cha cha. She’s got some work to do, I’m afraid. She was way too cautious. They scored 15/30.
- Misty May-Treanor & Maks Chmerkovskiy - Their first dance was the foxtrot. They were good! They scored 21/30.
- Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson - Their first dance was the cha cha. Considering just how big he is, he could really move! They scored 21/30.
Tonight’s the second round. Also on tonight is the season premiere of NCIS, the series premiere of The Mentalist which I have to confess I’m mainly watching because I’m shallow and think Simon Baker is cute, Fringe and Eureka.
In archaeological news, we have this story about Stonehenge.
As some of you may have seen elsewhere, I wrote a page and a half last night. Mostly dialogue. I may be able to work in some action with it tonight. I usually do a lot of weaving/layering that way.
Reading: Finished up Overnight Male by Elizabeth Bevarly. It’s kind of funny, the book was good, but I was way more interested in the budding romance between the “villain” and one of his cohorts than I was in the one between the heroine & hero.
Now I’m reading Zapped by Carol Higgins Clark. I really love the Regan Reilly series. Clark is the daughter of romantic suspense writer Mary Higgins Clark.
Oooh, I hate when they just spray you.
If I wanted perfume, I’d be at the dang perfume counter.
Yay on the writing! Can’t wait for NCIS tonight. I’ll have to record it, and watch Wednesday, but I’m so EXCITED!

Aren’t they supposed to ask before spritzing?
Thanks for the DWTS recap. I’m looking forward to NCIS.
I think you’ll also enjoy the books by Mary Higgins Clark ex-daughter-in-law - Her name is Mary Jane Clark.

I liked the Punk chic, too! I give Chloris props for getting out there, but there is no way she’ll last. She just won’t be able to keep up.
As for tv tonight! GAH! Eureka, Fringe and The Mentalist all are on at the same time! Does The Mentalist strike you as a knock-off of Psyche? Albiet a more serious one?
WTG on the page and a half! WOOT!
I hope you have a fantastic day!

I think I knew who two of the people were on DWTS. I am so out of the hollyweird loop…

I’d pay to see that fight!
I didn’t even realize NCIS was starting the new season. I taped it to watch when I have a spare 40-45 minutes.
