So, I found some comb-in hair color, believe it or not. The only problem, it only comes in hot pink, deep purple, cherry red, kelly green, royal blue, and electric blue. Hmm. Pink is my favorite color. Maybe I should go punk?

Last night the TV listings all said the first hour of Dancing with the Stars was a recap show. So I watched NCIS instead (and wasn’t that a bizarre, confusing episode). So I was seriously annoyed when I flipped over after NCIS to discover they’d had the kids dance finals during the first hour. Jerks. But I had to laugh. One of the musical “guests” was the show’s own Julianne Hough. What was so funny was Derek, Mark Ballas, and Lacey all danced during her song. With no shoes. Not too surprisingly, Cody Linley was eliminated.

People‘s Sexiest Man Alive was announced this morning. And the winner is Hugh Jackman. *swoon* As the editor of People said this morning on Good Morning, America, he’s the ultimate hero. He’s rugged yet romantic. He gives you the feeling he can take care of you. He won’t just buy you a house, he’ll build you a house with his own hands. Works for me!

And now a rant about holiday email ads from stores. I got one (of many) that lists presents for “him”, “her”, etc. Well, under “him” they had “electronics”. Are they saying only men are interested in electronics? Hello? :waving2: I’d rather have electronics than something for the darn kitchen (which was listed under “her”)!!! Idiots.

Then there are the morons in charge at the Environmental (so-called) Protection Agency. They don’t seem to have the slightest desire to protect the environment. They’re too busy helping big business pollute even more. They want to relax the clean air standards near national parks so coal-fired plants and oil refineries could be built close to them. :curse: What idiot could possibly think this is a GOOD idea?! Oh, wait. Big Business. Can we please ship them off the planet???

Just so I don’t sound like a total Miss Crankypants this morning, I just heard a story on the San Francisco news about a real estate developer (you know, the guys that are usually annoying and Evil?) who recently completed a building with six condos. He is now offering all of them as temporary housing for six families who lost their homes in the wildfires. He furnished the condos and even stocked them with food! I don’t know the man’s name, but he deserves a huge pat on the back!

Busy night on TV tonight. Bones, Pushing Daisies, Criminal Minds, Ghost Hunters, CSI: NY, and MythBusters. Whew!

Speaking of the holidays (above), the romantic comedy The Holiday has started playing on Encore and Encore WAM. It’s a really cute movie.

Wrote two pages last night. :whoo:

Reading: Last night I started reading Touchstone by Laurie R. King. I don’t know why, but I thought this was a new Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes novel. I was mistaken. Luckily, this one is still good. In 1926, U.S. Bureau of Investigation (the precursor to the FBI) Agent Harris Stuyvesant is tracking down a British man with Communist leanings who’s been bombing locations in the U.S. He has to seek out the assistance of Bennet Grey who has “special abilities” that force him to live like a hermit at the ends of the Earth (i.e. Penzance, Cornwall in England). It isn’t my usual cup of tea, but it’s so beautifully written I’ve already been sucked in. :)
