Our predicted high for today is 39. Bleah. Wanna be in the desert. Or somewhere else warm. But I’d settle for lounging in front of a fireplace with my dream man. Provided he would condescend to appear in my life. Oh well. On the plus side, at least it’s bright and sunny.

My aunt passed away yesterday about 2:00 in the morning. So things are kind of chaotic around here. My uncle doesn’t want people bringing food to their house, so everyone is bringing it here. Which, on the one hand, is good because I get to see what goodies we’re getting. But it also means I can’t pretend I’m not home. *g* Her passing is sad, but she suffered so much this past month or so that it’s really a blessing. This has really been a sucky year, though. I’m ready for it to be over. Maybe 2009 will be better.

Watching Dancing with the Stars has given me a new appreciation for Latin-type music. Hence today I’ve been listening to the Caliente/Latin Tropical channel on Sirius XM. So at least if I can’t actually be in a warm climate, I can pretend I am.

Tonight on TV is the usual Friday fare. Stargate: Atlantis, Sanctuary which I can’t quite seem to stop watching, and Numb3rs.

I wrote two and a half pages last night.

Reading: Now I’m reading 1634: The Baltic War by Eric Flint and David Weber. This part of the Ring of Fire series about a 21st Century West Virginia town that is transported to 17th Century Germany. Yes, the entire town. Needless to say, they turn history on its ear. *g* But what’s really funny is how while the modern folks are changing history, the books still manage to include a fair amount of historical fact. Even if it’s the characters saying if we do this, it’ll change such-and-such. I’ve lost count of the number of Jeopardy questions I’ve gotten right thanks to this series of books.
