Remember the good old days when you watched the news and actually got journalism? And not this tabloid reporting crap we get now? I was watching ABC World News last night and was dumbfounded when during a story about the now infamous shoe-throwing incident yesterday (I’m not getting into politics here, just the way it’s reported) they said the president was annoyed about how it was overshadowing the reason for his trip. And the woman doing the story sounded surprised! Like they were completely innocent of having anything to do with reporting the shoe-throwing incident ad nauseum and ignoring the actual reason for the trip. Hello? :waving2: One of these days I’m going to follow through on my boycott of network news. What a bunch of idiots!

Well! We got a bunch of sleet, freezing rain, and snow last night. Our roads are covered. And now I don’t have to go to the dentist today. :bananadance: Okay, it was just to have my teeth cleaned, but it’s too darn cold to go out. Besides, I so do not need to risk falling and breaking any bones. This isn’t detracting from my enjoyment of Dean Martin singing Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, however. :)

Tonight, we have NCIS, The Mentalist, Eli Stone and Leverage.

Wrote about half a page last night.

Reading: Still reading The Wee Free Men. Should finish that tonight. Then…? No clue.

  1. I watch my local news, but don’t watch much of the others.
And yeah, that story is getting way to much play.

    YAY on half a page!
We’re getting rain for the next four days, but no word on anything else.

I hope you’re having a good day and staying warm!

  2. I actually had to turn off the tv last night because I couldn’t stand to see even one more replay of the shoe throwing incident!

  3. I have no idea what the show throwing incident was so I’m feeling as lost as when you guys talk TV shows! No matter, reporters in general ask really stupid questions. I don’t know if they’re told to do it or what but I find it really annoying. The last couple of days of ice/snow coverage on tv has just left me shaking my head wondering “where do they find these people?”

  4. We’ve had the freezing temperatures but no precipitation fortunately! I sure don’t want to go out there right now. I’m a cold wimp.

  5. That’s one of the reasons I no longer watch network news. I really don’t like watching local, but I need it for the weather.

    Yay on the half-page written.
