Yesterday turned out not to be all that bad, thank goodness. Just very windy and rainy. And now it’s bright and sunny. But considerably cooler. :)

Stories in the news: a dispute over an 850-pound emerald. :confused68: And a guy who shot talkers at the movies. I’ve often felt like doing that.

I’m still dabbling with the family history. What a mess! I wish people would learn how to properly format stuff. Better yet, I wish they’d learn how to do research. *g*

Yet again a night with nothing on. Last night I tried to watch Children of Men with Clive Owen but I was bored beyond tears. Which is sad since it was supposed to be an action shoot ‘em up :rambo: type movie. Or so I thought. So I watched Gaudy Night instead.

Reading: Now I’m reading another of my Christmas presents. Vixen 03 by Clive Cussler. This time around, Dirk Pitt discovers an Air Force plane that crashed into a Colorado lake in the 1950s. The disappearance of the plane was covered up by the Air Force & Army because it was carrying radioactive materials. And now two of the containers are missing.

So I was watching the 1950s What’s My Line? the other night. For those who’ve never seen the show, four panelists try to guess the occupation of the contestant by asking questions. This particular contestant was an egg inspector. One of the ladies, Dorothy Kilgallen, asked if he dealt with a dairy product to which he correctly said “no”. Then the questions got around to Arlene Francis who asked if he dealt with eggs. To which Dorothy exclaimed, “Those are dairy products!” Everyone else said, “No they aren’t.” Then she said, “But they’re in the dairy section of supermarket!” Arlene asked her, “When was the last time you saw a cow lay an egg???” For some reason this got me laughing so hard I Could. Not. Breathe. And she wasn’t a stupid woman (she was a journalist back when that actually meant something!) which makes it all the funnier, IMO.

It’s 70 freaking degrees outside right now! And we’re soon to be under a tornado watch. Joy. *sigh* Much as I love the warmer weather, I’d rather have snow than tornadoes.

Not a darn thing on tonight, so it’ll be more recorded stuff. Movies tonight, I think.

Wrote about a third of a page last night.

Reading: I finished the Mrs. Jeffries book, so now I’m finishing up Queen of Demons. Next up? I’m not sure. *g*

Eartha Kitt who sang my favorite version of the song Santa Baby passed away yesterday at the age of 81. She also played Catwoman in the 1960s edition of Batman.

Also, playwright and screenwriter Harold Pinter died. He was 78.

Man, it is foggy here this morning. They’re now saying a high of 65 today. I’d like that except the crazy weather changes are likely to trigger severe thunderstorms which I so do not care about.

So, did everyone have a good Christmas? Was Santa good to you all? I got three books, season three of Remington Steele, two long-sleeved pajama tees, some tins of gourmet cookies, some new sweatpants, a pair of tweezers (I asked for them! LOL!) and a new coat! It’s purple and very warm.

There isn’t a darn thing on tonight except reruns. So you know what that means! *g* Last night I finally watched Casino Royale. I’ve never been all that gaga over Daniel Craig, but he totally rocks as Bond.

I took the last two days off from writing. But it’s back to the grind tonight.

Reading: I set aside Queen of Demons so I could read one of my Christmas present books. The one I chose is set during the holidays so I had to read it. Right? It’s Mrs. Jeffries and the Feast of St. Stephen by Emily Brightwell. This is the latest (I think) book in the series set in Victorian England. Mrs. Jeffries is the housekeeper of a police inspector and she and the rest of his household staff (he inherited money from an aunt) help him detect without actually telling him they’re detecting. It’s a fun series.
