Happy New Year!!!

I don’t do resolutions because I never manage to keep them. I’m not really much into making goals for much the same reason. But this year, I do hope to do a few things. Like:

  • Finish the book I’m working on because I’m ready to play with some other characters
  • Continue climbing around in the family tree and see what kind of nuts fall out
  • Watch television provided the TV execs don’t all cancel fictional programming and go with strictly “reality” crap
  • Read lots of books (this one will be the easiest!)

Last night I had the news on and they were doing a story about the rise in bank robberies in these hard times. The reporter mentioned a robbery in NYC and she said it was done “in broad daylight”. When else would they do it??? Most banks close before it gets dark! LOL!!! She sounded like it was such an unlikely occurance. And this wasn’t even our goofy local reporters, this was some chick with ABC News!

Right now I’m watching the Rose Parade which I recorded. I went with the commercial-free HGTV edition. It would be even more enjoyable without the announcers.

It’s another evening of reruns. Oh well. More recorded shows and/or more of the Barrett-Jackson antique car auction. I’ve discovered I’m a bit of a snob. With the exception of a 1969 Jaguar XKE roadster, I prefer cars that were made before I was born. *g*

Wrote about a third of a page last night. Yay!

Reading: Right now I’m reading The Undead Next Door by Kerrilyn Sparks. I’ve enjoyed the other books in the series, but I’m enjoying this one a lot more because it’s set in the Texas Hill Country which I have a soft spot for. :)

  1. Happy New Year!
Please, no, no more reality shows.
I think you’re doing very well sticking with your story! And I’m with you, more books! *G*
One of our local news people mispronounced a word the other day, the name of a local city. *G*
I like the Kerrilyn Sparks books! My fav so far would have to be All I Want For Christmas is a Vampire.

    I hope you’re having a beautiful day!

  3. Happy New Year!

I’m all for reading more books.

I find that I’m watching more TV shows on cable than on the networks and I hope that we don’t see reality shows overtake serials and/or comedies.

  5. I loved “The Undead Next Door”… she’s such a fun author.

And, yeah… reality shows. Blech. I watch American Idol, but wouldn’t cry if it were canceled. Now…”Eureka” being axed? THAT would make me ball like a baby.
