Today is the birthday of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, one person I have yet to be related to.

Speaking of which, right now I’m not verifying anything or looking for new alleged connections. I’m trying to weed out all the duplicates. And I have those a-plenty! But it takes some detective work to get rid of some of them because different researchers use different names/spelling for the same person. It’s… time-consuming. On the other hand, I’m finding lots of English & French nobility. Barons and earls and dukes, oh my!

Last night, I tried to watch the new Patrick Swayze series on A&E, The Beast. “Tried” being the key word. I could not get into it. At all. Which actually works out for me. I can go back to my boycott of A&E without feeling guilty.

Tonight we only have a couple of things on. A special two hour Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and part one of a four hour movie The Last Templar. It’s based on the book of the same name by Raymond Khoury which is most excellent. When a mysterious group dressed as Templars steals an artifact from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, archaeologist Tess Chaykin and FBI agent Sean Reilly head off in hot pursuit.

Reading: Now I’m reading A Few Good Men by Tori Carrington. This a Harlequin Blaze with four novellas in it. I’ve only read the first one, so far, which was really good. The whole book is about the romances of four Marines who work together.

I saw a news story from TV Guide yesterday about the producers of Lost giving Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger a standing invitation to visit the set of the show in Hawaii. I’d personally love it, but I’m not sure I’d think it was much of a treat if I’d been on a plane that crashed.

I’m so happy I’ve got my smilies back! :headspin:

Not a lot going on here. Wacky weather continues. Yesterday we had a high in the mid-60s. Today, it’s only supposed to get up to 36.

Today and tonight I’ll be watching the U.S. Figure Skating championships. And Treasure Hunter.

I wrote almost two pages last night!!! :whoo:

Reading: Finished up The Ships of Air which I enjoyed tremendously. Really wish I had the third & final book in my hot little hands, but I’ll have to wait to satisfy the rest of my love for Ilias. Anyway, now I’m reading The Nerd Who Loved Me by Vicki Lewis Thompson which I’m also enjoying a lot. The books in the Nerd series are so funny.
