Such was the opening line for the first season of the original Dark Shadows. To my extreme annoyance, I discovered quite by accident yesterday that the 1991 remake (all 12 episodes) was being aired on Chiller. *grumble* I found this out in the middle of episode 11. I guess I’ll have to fall back on the plan to buy the DVD set. The remake was so awesome and so totally screwed by the Gulf War that year. Then I discovered another cool-sounding mini-series that was being aired on Ovation. It’s called Lost in Austen and it’s about a modern day London girl named Amanda who one day comes face to face with Elizabeth Bennett from Pride & Prejudice in her bathroom. Amanda ends up inside the book and apparently many amusing antics ensue. But I found that in the middle too! It just wasn’t my day for seeing stuff. *g*

Tonight, we have the usual Monday night fare. DWTS, Chuck, Heroes, 24, and Castle.

Reading: Last night I started reading Dial M for Mischief by Kasey Michaels. This is the first of the Sunshine sisters series. The sisters’ father has “officially” committed suicide after killing a mayoral candidates wife. The sisters don’t believe he killed anyone, including himself and set out to prove it.

  1. That happens to me all the time with Chiller. I get irritated with that station because of the number of commercials and that they aren’t consistent with their shows. I tried to watch the old “Night Stalker” series but I couldn’t find it on regular basis.

  2. So… TiVo messed up my NCIS last week cuz, yanno… some important guy was gabbing to the nation and I decided I needed to find it online.

And I discovered my new fave website, which–lo and behold– has ALL TWELVE episodes of the 1991 Dark Shadows show.

    You’re welcome.

  3. I’ve never see the remake of Dark Shadows. The original is enough to last a lifetime.

I’ve never heard of Ovation cable network. What kind of shows do they air?

That’s a cool site, thanks Marianne.

    I hope you’re having a good Monday.

  4. I caught about 10 minutes of the remake last night. One where someone’s from the future’s clothes were found and because it had a zipper and washing instructions they were worn by a tool of the devil. Uh-huh. The Preacher dude gave me the creeps so I stopped watching it after that. *G* But, you say it’s good? Hmmmm. May have to check it out. Hulu may have it.
Can’t wait for Castle and DWTS tonight!
    I hope you’re having a good day!
