On this date in 1897, Thomas Edison was awarded a patent for his movie camera, the Kinetograph.

And believe it or not, ’80s pop star Debbie Gibson turns 39 today! How is that possible? Shouldn’t she still be about 16?

The only thing on tonight is Clash of the Gods. Tonight they’re taking a look at the myth of Medusa and her snakey hairdo. *g*

Reading: Still reading A Sensitive Kind of Murder. Can’t remember what’s up next…. An Aunt Dimity book, I think.

The wildfires in California are burning like, well, wildfire. Bad pun. Sorry. It seems like every five or ten minutes I get a new news alert from one of the big news outlets about the fires. And it never seems to be good news. So stay safe out there, people. The rest of us will keep you in our prayers.

Not really much else to say today. It’s a gorgeous sunny but cool (predicted high of 76) day. Nice!

Tonight on TV we have a new episode (finally!) of Inspector Lewis on Masterpiece Mystery and a new episode of Defying Gravity.

Reading: Finished up All Together Dead. For some reason I didn’t like Quinn as much this time around. Oh well. Now I’m reading A Sensitive Kind of Murder by Jacqueline Girdner. This is the final book in the series.

For fun and games today, I’m surfing around Google’s book site in search of research material for the steampunk book. Or that’s the general idea, anyway. I’m finding lots of fun stuff from the 1800s and early 20th Century. Tourist guide books, architecture & gardening books, airships.

There’s nothing on tonight, so it’s either a movie or a few episodes of MacGyver. Hmm. I’m thinking MacGyver might be handy. My steampunk heroine might learn a thing or two from him. *g*

Only got through six pages last night.

Reading: Now I’m reading All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris.
