On this date in 1066, my ancestor ::cough, cough::** William the Conqueror and his merry band of Normans invaded England.
**Certain people have said he’s my umpteen-greats grandpa, but I have yet to prove that to my own satisfaction. 
ETA: Since I couldn’t seem to say what I meant about the whole Roman Polanski thing I just deleted it. I’m not sure what I meant now anyway. If I offended anyone, I apologize. That wasn’t my intention at all.
Anyway. On a more cheerful note, tonight we have Dancing with the Stars (wonder how everyone will do tonight?), Heroes (I have yet to watch last week’s episode…), Castle (which is bound to be fun), Clash of the Gods (tonight we shift to Norse mythology and the legend of Beowulf), and a special on the History Channel called Day After Disaster which looks interesting.
I’m madly in love with the DVR. It makes recording SOOOO easy!!!
Reading: FInished up Spanish Dagger last night. And now I’m back to reading Twanged by Carol Higgins Clark.
Heard about the arrest. And heard he’s fighting extradition with France’s support behind him.
I’m of the “he committed a crime he needs to be upheld to the law” type of person.
You’re making me jealous with your DVR. *G* I can’t wait for Castle tonight and I had stopped watching Clash of the Gods, but really enjoy Norse mythology so may have to peek at that one!

Good old Grandpa WTC. I visited his little house over in England few years ago while visiting the in-laws. Battle Abbey. Very nice, but a bit drafty and not a lot of comfy soft furnishings.
I got nothing about Roman Polanski either. I read all the gossip sites but I just laugh or shake my head, sometimes both.
How are you doing the genealogy? The IGI is quite good fun and so is WorldConnect, as I am sure you know…I’ve been tinkering with my genealogy stuff lately too and it makes a nice change.
