On this date in 1954, a young, struggling musician walked into Sun Studios and paid $4 to record a 45rpm record. The title of this post is one of the songs he recorded. His name? Elvis Presley.

On this same date in 1935, Bob Hope made his U.S. network radio debut as a member of the cast of “The Intimate Revue”. Despite a fair amount of googling, I couldn’t find out anything else about the show. I assume it was some kind of vaudevillian musical/comedy program.

Not a lot going on here. It’s cold but sunny. And I got some of my Christmas books I ordered today. :whoo:

Cockatiels at Seven by Donna Andrews
Goodbye Ms. Chips by Dorothy Cannell
    Doppelgangster by Laura Resnick
    Crazy Cool by Tara Janzen

So I’m set for awhile longer. :) I hate not having anything in my TBR pile.

The only thing on TV tonight is MythBusters so I’ll watch another recorded show or two.

And tonight I’ll get back into the writing groove. Hope I do as well as I did the other day!

Reading: I finished up the Trixie Belden book I was reading last night. Not sure what I’m going start next. So much to choose from! Or from which to choose (if you want to be a stickler for good grammar  ).

  5. LOL… your grammar comment reminded me of a quote from “Designing Women”. It was something along the lines of one of them (Julia?) going to a ritzy party and saying to one of the snobby ladies, “Where y’all from?” and getting the response, “We’re from where you don’t end a sentence with a preposition.” to which she responded, “Oh. Where y’all from, b***h?”

    *snort*

Pardon my asterick-laden French, but it still cracks me up.

    Happy reading!
